Re: New Here
Hello to you who started this thread.
I am new here too and it's obvious.
I apologize if I committed a faux paz here but.... anyway....
I didn't know if I should start a new thread but then I figured I'd just post in this one because I am going to take a wild guess... and guess that it is a good place to start, introduce myself as well, like you. Also, I did not wish to "crap up" the forum with a duplicate thread because some people do not like that.
Usually, instead of typing all this stuff I just put in links but as I read in the rules here, you can't do that. Thus, I'm not and I won't until it is deemed OK to do so.
Well, I do not know if I really should "be" here because I'm an "older person", meaning 40's.
Maybe I might be too old.
As far as any "goth-ness" ... well, I am going to take an educated guess and say that I was like "that" prior to it all becoming a major "IN" thing.
It was kind of "me" to begin with. I did not know it was "IN" or "GOTH" at the time, which would have been the late 80's - early 90's.
I love clothing and art that reflects a somewhat "darker" side to life.
NOT a negative thing, like some people think, but I believe in a "darker" appreciation of art and literature, fashion, music, whatever.
I am a bass player in some band and after 25-30 years of playing guitar and bass and working as a professional musician, I would hope I'd be good at it by now. If not, there is a serious problem.
I like to re-construct old or out-dated clothes into something else.
I love to make jewelry out of gemstone beads.
I love to create.
I love to look at art and things OTHERS create.
I tend to be self-critical because I believe one can NEVER be "good enough" and there will always be someone who can do it better than you can. Always.
In my life, an ego would just be detrimental.
I hate my day job in some nasty 3rd party out-sourced call center. I want to just quit that place but I have bills to pay, and here in the United States, and the rather SMALL city I am currently residing in, JOBS ARE SCARCE and one must take what's available.
The band is getting to the point where it can be a main income but I don't wish to risk that just yet. I try and be responsible in my decision-making when it comes to things like that.
Thanks for reading this and I hope I did not "step on anyone's toes" or anything like that.
Cheers.
