Default Campaign for Real Beauty? I think not!

At present there is an Ad campaign claiming ( http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.co.uk/ ) which is claiming they support "real beauty" but the company behind it, Dove, is now marketing a product which has tanning agents in it to give you "an even, all-over tan" for that Summer Glow.

Does anyone else think this is self-hypocrisy? The fact that they want people to embrace their natural beauty, then say you should be getting a natural-looking tan.

It's widely thought that a tan makes you look healthy, but a tan is technically your skins way of telling you that it is damaged. Also, a lot of cultures are based around being paler. The Indian Caste system is based on the shade of your skin. The lighter you skin, the higher your caste. Possibly a little racist, but that is how it's been for centuries. They see "White folks" trying to get a tan, and they think we are crazy. And they would be right! Tanning ages the skin.

My sisters all go abroad to Spain and Greece for holidays and get tans, and they all now look a lot older than me (even though only one is physically older) We holiday in Whitby, at times when it's not that bright, and we seem to stay looking a lot younger than we are.

It's this sort of thing that makes me want to hurt people.

I try to avoid the sun as best I can, I'm not into that old wrinked haggard look.
And that whole 'real beauty' thing, has gimmick written all over it. If people were so self confident and happy with their looks as-is, all those dumb shits would be out of business.

what amuses me is the fake tan lotions, to much and itgives an orange hue. and its 90% overapplied on peroxide blondes, 2% of which overbleach the hair to a sight green hue.

and they look at me odd when i'm humming the oompa loompa song with a bemused smile

I love the campaign slogan and that they are trying to get a messege out there that there are all types of beauty. But they of course chose naturally beautiful girls and women for their ads, with gorgeous bodies, despite size.

I just want them to get real clients in the ads. I wanna see women with side rolls, back fat, acne, double chins, frizzy hair, crooked teeth, stretch marks, (not all at once) or some form of reality to them. Not saying all the people buying Dove aren't naturally gorgeous, I just want more variety in the ads, people with a little something else, ya know.

Holy shit, how can someone get into tanning that much and not realize how bad it is for them and how worn out she looks? Her poor, poor skin. It's crazy, but I can't look away.

If want tanned women I'll date an India. The tan thing isnt my cup of tea, blonde hair, blue eye, or green I am all for that. Pale more natural skin tones suit me.. Black hair and green eyes, pale with natural skin tones i am there.

Man, now chocolate Easter bunnies have been ruined. They were one of the few pleasures of zombie jesus day. Good thing there's still white chocolate...
