Default Hahaha... I am such an old man...

I just took a goofy little political news awareness quiz from the Pew Research folks you hear a lot of polling results from these days. Apparently the average percentile score for ages 18-29 is only a 30% correct, while 30-49 year olds average score is only 48% correct, and 50+ year olds score best with an average of 56% correct.

I got 83% correct, so I guess I'm like a hundred and three.

I missed the casualty count in Iraq. Got 11 of 12. Those results are kind of scary in all age groups. I read the news, nothing more.

    hehe I got a 69.

8 out of 12, I pretty much missed all the ones of politicians names, and the other one I missed was the dow jones average.

Yeah, that's one of the two I got wrong as well, which I think is more of a statement about the quality of our media and the notion that they are being discouraged from reporting on our casualties these days, rather than my awareness.

True. I guessed over the actual amount, but it was a total shot in the dark. Answered 5 was 4. Would have surely missed the Dow except "CNN Money" was on while I was waiting for take-out.

haha apathetic voter :P That's pretty decent actually. You have to love the horse race aspect of politics to remember who people like Reid are. He hasn't done much to warrant attention given his position.

35% here. Totally guessed my way through that one. Not sure why I even bothered, guess I'm bored. I hate politics.

Personally I'm sitting on a nice 97% correct - what can I say I pay attention to international politics.

    Does that make me ancient?

These stats are weird... I'm thinking about it and I can't figure out how some of these stats are arrived at with a 12 question test. If I got an 83%, that means I got 9.96 correct, But I actually got 10 correct. That seems odd.

It's been a long time since I took statistics for social science in school, but I think you just have to round off to get a percentage. 10 out of 12 would be .83333333333333333333333333333 to infinity.

I got a 76. I thought I was more aware than that. Embarrassed to say I miss the Dow Jones one. I knew Greenspan was retired, but I couldn't recall who replaced him. And I had a brain freeze on the Democratic National Committee question.

12 out of 12... 97%... that's mostly because until last year i was "property of the government" can't help knowing some of this stuff... now i don't really pay attention to the news, unless it's on BB or TMZ... (ok, maybe i read google news...)
