    Default Obama/Powell?

When respondents were asked if they would vote for Obama if Clinton were his running mate, less than half said it would make no difference:
    • Much more likely: 18.9 per cent
    • Somewhat more likely: 10.8 per cent
    • Somewhat less likely: 5.3 per cent
    • Much less likely: 19.8 per cent
    • No difference: 43.9 per cent
Of the possible running mates the Zogby poll included, Gen. Colin Powell, President Bush's former secretary of state, seemed to attract the most support for Obama:
    • Much more likely: 23.1 per cent
    • Somewhat more likely: 18.5 per cent
    • Somewhat less likely: 3.1 per cent
    • Much less likely: 6.4 per cent
    • No difference: 47.4 per cent

That must have been a real specific population sampling.

It's Zogby. They have a decent rep I thought. Dunno.

The Zogby International telephone poll of 1,039 likely voters nationwide was conducted July 9-13, 2008, and asked respondents how the selection of certain vice presidential candidates would affect their likelihood to vote for the two leading presidential candidates. It carries a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Small pool definitely. I don't know how you isolate "likely".

yeah, let's put one of the guys that helped the past admin get us into the SNAFU Iraq back into power, and in an even more elevated position.

    no thank you sir.

I doubt he'll pick Powell. Polls don't predict voting behavior even within their own margin of errors generally. I did find it interesting that Powell is suddenly being included in Zogby polls v. Clinton for VP. Run a few clips of Powell with that vial of "yellowcake" in front of the UN and he's history as well.
