Default UV light sensitive ink- tattoos

I'm getting a uv- glow under black light tattoo next week. It's a hot pink ring pop, on my arm. Anyone got any glow under black light tattoos and would like to share their experience. It'll be my first, and my artists first time using that ink too.

I have too, and was wondering the same thing.

I've always wanted some eyes peeking somewhere out of my waistband or something like that.... I dont know if I'd go thru with it, but the thought of it has always intrigued me.

Be aware it will be faintly visible in daylight.

since regular ink is unstable towards UV (that's what tatoo removal lasers are) I would assume that UV reactionary dyes would break up even more when exposed to sunlight and fade a lot quicker.

There have been reports that people have gotten cancer from the stuff, and that it is very lead based which is not good for you...as neat as they may be I'd still take caution.

    Hum...

Do you think this would work?:

Using normal ink, it's a flag, of like... America, or Canada.

Then, with the UV ink, it's a flag of the Soviets. Either the real one, with the H&S on the stars of the American flag, or a stylized one with it on the Maple Leaf.

Would that work, using UV and normal ink that way? More importantly, would it come out looking halfway decent....

from what I understand it's not invisible, it's just like light green usually, and other neon colors.

as far as non-cosmetic applications they do have clear UV dyes, but it would be pretty hard for them to use them for a tattoo, ya know what I mean? on account of not being able to see what they were drawing, i'd imagine that it wouldn't turn out very good.

honestly, I have no idea. I'm just making all this shit up on my best guess. I don't know anyone that does UV ink, and I ddin't get a whole lot of info from the few people i've seen with it.

to be completley truthful, they were pretty dumb and had dumb tattoos.

I'm pretty sure all tattoo ink is. It says right on the label something like 'known in the state of California to cause cancer'. Not the exact wording and I don't have a bottle near me but something to that effect.

Oh, it says WARNING This product contains a chemical knonwn to the state of California to cause cancer.
It says the same thing on the paint markers I use for work which I do have here.

Everything causes cancer in california. Usually even the signs they put that on.

I was gonna joke with Mystoo, and be like.... ah, at least you're in Canada, and in the clear from the cancer scare.
BUT it sounded funnier in my head than out loud

I still don't know about UV ink, but my guy says that the ink he uses it made out of like witch hazel and and glycerin and vegetable dye and it's 100% organic and vegan. so in other words, it's not going to give you cancer. you might want to ask your artist about what kind of ink they use, make sure you are getting natural stuff.

Either way, I wouldn't be too concerned about the cancer factor with tattoo ink. If that doesn't get you something else will eh? But, I really wanna see your tat once it's done so make sure to post pics!

I'm skeptical if those are actually tattoos, or just drawn on. Also I would have liked to see a normal light comparison.

I'm actually planning to get a UV tattoo soon myself, I currently have the three plain ink ones but they're all small and easily conceled for work - the UV one might be a bit harder.

I want to get skeletal wings (kinda like bat wings) and an outline of my spine done in UV on my back, it would be a major job reaching from the nape of my neck down to where, if I had them, the dimples of my ass would be.

    Kinda sorta like

but only the outlines of bones. Though maybe that doesn't make sense to anyone but me.

ATM I am talking to my tattoo artist about designs so if you get yours before I get mine let me know how it goes!
