    Default Star Trek Movie

So, I was extremely excited to see a new Star Trek movie in the works, some many months ago. Everyone was worried how they would pull it off, until details were released that it would take place in Star Fleet Academy. Still, who could they get to play the parts that even resembled the original cast? Well, I was happy that they chose Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) to play young Spock. And Simon Pegg is a perfect Scotty, but how the hell did they decide on Winona Ryder for Spocks human mother? Did they look at the script and cast and say to each other "Wow, this movie is going to be awesome. We gotta suck it up a bit. Let's call Winona Ryder"....

What do you guys think? Do you think she's going to ruin the movie? Or am I being paranoid?

I reserve judgment until I see a movie...but I don't think Ryder's role will be able to make or break this movie.

I like Winona in parts that are written for her or at least more for her personality, not ones that have been established beforehand. For examples, take a look at The Crucible and Dracula.

And Buster, that video is fucking hilarious.

I see her as the type that 10 years from now, if she can't get alot of work, she'll be posing topless for Playboy....Sadly, about 15 years too late for me probably to give a shit. I mean, they'll look nice with all the air brushing and all, but deep down, I'll know they don't look like that in real life. Jennifer Love Hewitt is another one. She's all bitchin' now that years ago she should have walked around nude because she had such a great body. Well...Fuck her. Too bad, so sad. Now, nobody's really drooling for her anymore. She should have shown off those puppies when they were in their prime. If they showed well, guys probably would still be all into her. I say, if you have a great body...Show it off. Be proud of what you have. Don't wait for the bottom to drop out AND THEN start showing off your stuff.

Oh and as for Star Trek, like I've said on past threads, remakes usually suck so we'll see. Although Zachary Quinto does look just like Spock in his heyday. I want to see how the guy who plays Captain Kirk plays it off. I can't imagine anybody, but William Shatner when I think of James T Kirk. "KHANNNNNNNN!"

Out of the four Star franchises- Wars, Trek, Gate, and Search- SG1 is easily my third favorite.

that's all I got. really I don't think I'll be seeing this movie. out of all the others I think I've seen about 2 and a half of them.

I will definitely be checking out the movie when it comes out, I love all things Star Trek, was very happy I was able to at least visit the Star Trek Experience in Vegas before they closed it.

Plus another thing I like is that Gene Roddenberry is from my home town, El Paso, Texas. Even my mom is a Trekkie. What sucks is I will have to wait at least 6-8 months after you all see the movies, most movies come out over here after several months from the U.S. release.

No its Stargate for the win!
But I am pretty sure its not a remake if its at the acadamy, but more of a prequel

Not only is it a prequel, it's a non-canon prequel. Fanboys are off the hook on this one.
