Default Should free drinks for women be banned

UK bans free drinks for women SMH
"Free drinks for women will be banned and free tastings of wine and beer will be limited as part of the British government's latest efforts to curb public drinking...

...According to the paper, the proposals are aimed at transforming social attitudes. That would mean ending drinking games organised by bars and a ban on drinks with suggestive names, like the cocktail Sex on the Beach."

One day, when I am a crazy billionaire (hey I am half way there!) I am going to start a right to vice campaign.

Seriously, if you have the right to work in a coal mine so that I can watch "House" in an air conditioned room while surfing the web, then you have the right to drink, smoke and what the hell have sex with consenting strangers.

There are a lot of big scary things in the world we need governments to protect us from, $2 beers are not one of them.

On the upside, at least they are trying to ban ladies night to cut down drinking, and not under some bizarre equal rights delusion.

Dude, the women aren't as bad as the men who get pissed out of their skulls every night.
It's the men who should be banned from having free drinks.

i dont know. the women here can be worse

at least with roiders (i think the yank term is Geardo) theres a rule of thumb: Roiders are like the sun; big, orange, and you never stare directly at them.

amd my other term i use on a night out: Lambrini (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambrini) Girls just wanna FIGHT!"

WTF? What does it matter what the drink is named?

"Oh sorry love, can't have a sex on the beach anymore. How about this bucket of straight gin instead. That's not named anything raunchy."

    People are fucking stupid.

The UK is sucking worse than the US right now, what with all this recent moralising matron-governing. Governments shouldn't be 'changing public attitudes', they should be representing them.

Also, sexist. Don't brits have a gender equality clause in a constitution somewhere?

Seriously, no BDSM and no giving drinks to the ladies. They might as well just ban mating and get it over with.

I don't care for establishments which attempt to lure the ladies with free drinks (if they're so desperate for clients they need to serve it free then they can serve it to everyone free regardless of gender) .... just make like a good gay establishment and have those drink specials all night long, please (obnoxious names like long island ice "teabag" are clever - lol) .....

its in their view of "if people dont view it, they wont want an east European sex slave". its their way of paying lip service to the papers without anything being done.

2-3 years ago they tried to clear up gun crime by banning toy guns, i was involved in the setup of the group that fought long and hard for me to go out and play soldiers on weekends. we scraped by with a "legal defence" which hasnt had a test case yet.

MP's are all about spin and brown nosing, rarely listen and dont make thier own opinions up. thank heavens we have the house of lords to detemper that bullshit as they no longer have to worry about constituents agreeing for them to continue on 130,000 per annum and an expense account which some use to the tune of 150,000. and thay all think we earn 20,000 (14,500, and i had to build that up from 10,000)
