To answer the original question, I think some people need to do some self-repair before they can have a real relationship, so perhaps arguably there is someone for them only after they take care of themselves. Then again, some people enjoy having relationships with damaged people who can't treat them right, so maybe there simply is someone for everyone. I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer did get dates. He just, ya know, killed and ate them.

another part to this i wonder about would be does this person really have to be a physical person? i mean, some religions require their followers to be celabate and devoted only to their god or godess. in this concept, they are not truelly alone but from the outside appear to be alone.

basically i dont think one is always intended to ahve a physical soulmate but may be destined to be a part of a faith or plan or dream or goal.

some artists work best alone and are content to wittle their life down with noone but their canvas or tools and dreams.

some priests or priestesses are content being deep into their studies with only their god or godess to keep them company etc.

You seem pretty bitter about loving yourself. Bad break up?

I dont think that there is 1 specific person for you.

But i do believe that there is a few number of people in which both of your souls connect.

If there was only 1 person for you and that person died, are you just suppose to give up??

I really hope not? I always thought of my parents being each others "only one". but now that my dads been dead almost 2 years, I cant imagine my mom being alone forever. maybe theres a select few out there who actually get you.

A fortune teller told me that once: that my soul mate was already dead.

Well, believe me, I put the same trust in fortune tellers as I would Rockwulf on how to lose weight, or Raza on how to act manly.

    Do cats count?
Seriously (not that the cat comment isn't serious), I believe in universal love - well, that we siphon from "there", direct it where our egos will, and proceed to mess it up. I'm glad I no longer do relationships. Too much drama!
I am no better or worse than most. I, too, choose the uniqueness of selective love. I looove my kitties SO MUCH but I don't love assholes. I have been "in love" and I have friends I adore. Other folks...I can't seem to stand.
Yes, I am unenlightened, and haven't mastered universal love.

I don't know anyone that has personally. But I know people that got glimpses of it. I too had a moment of enlightenment. But it lasted for a moment. Full enlightenment takes years and years to accomplish, some of seekers never get a glimpse of it at all.
