    Default Insomnia?

So heres my problem. Its just after midnight and I have to be up in about 6 hours to get my child up for school, do the house work and such. And I find myself completely exhusted but unable to even lay down without getting hit with this completely overwhelming feeling of anxiety. Its like this just about everynight for me, and its really beginning to become a pain in the ass. its causing me to be extremely tired at work and irritable and well, more bitchy then my normal self. Im thinking I might have a major anxiety issue going on, but someone suggested finding a way to wind down.

What do you do to unwind and relax at the end of the day?

i drink. sory that sounded brash. um.......have you tried a nice milky tea? chai is a good one, decaf would probably be best. any kind of decaf tea with cream or milk will soothe and may calm things a bit.

    that's why i updated what i said.

try some herbal non caffeinated teas with a cream or warm milk base to it.
    sleepy time is good.

chai is soothing as is earl grey but i dunno if you can find earl grey in decaf.

it usually works for me but then again Im not under the same stress you are, s.t

Chamomile is relaxing and good for sleep. Takes your blood pressure down. Warm milk works too.

I have insomnia too. It comes and goes though and usually when I'm stressed about something. I just take a few sleeping pills but it might not be such a great idea to be zonked out like that if you've got kids. I find a nice long relaxing soak in the tub helps as well. Or, pick up a text book on a subject that you have absolutely no interest in and try reading before you go to bed. You'll either learn something or bore yourself to sleep.

Meditate before sleeping. Breathing exercises and clearing of your mind. When you then lay down to sleep, try your best to only think of calm things like waves slowly crashing on a white beach. Oh, and get off caffeine. A major enhancer of anxiety.

Reminded me of my time in karate, my record in sit ups was 315 in one go. Now I can barely reach 100. What's yours?

You lie on your back and kind of pull your torso towards towards your legs.
Im crap at them, which probably means I need to do more lol, but my best record is 268 squat kicks. I just blanked my mind and focused on my breathing. I couldnt walk properly afterward mind you

NLP can work, as can many other disciplines and natural remedies, but allow me at least to empathize...I hate this disease/symptom/whatever SO MUCH and what's harder, I'm naturally nocturnal. Lunesta is decent if you're not averse to pills. It works for me, anyway, unless my anxiety is so intense that it overpowers everything.

    I've read all my books.....twice. I need a trip to a bookstore..
usually, just reading on the internet is enough to make me tired. as it is, I'm running on four hours of sleep. I guess i'll drink another rockstar.

It happens to me sometimes. I love doing creative stuff when it happens. And then taking long steamy baths.

Don't make a mistake and take a nap in middle of day. Hang out till tonight and then go to sleep in some normal time... If it's that what you want

I find sex is the perfect insomnia cure. Massively-energetic, theatrically obscene wanton, sweat-soaked sex.

I suggest it, and she's suddenly tired.

Funny thing about GHB is that it's prescribed both to persons with insomnia and to persons with narcolepsy, go figure
