My ex had to put our cat to sleep this afternoon. She had cancer. He called me an hour before my alarm went off, waking me from a nightmare about zombies to tell me this.

I have to go to work today to show my booker the text messages from sunday where I booked tuesday, thursday and saturday, just to prove that I wasn't a no-call/no-show for friday, so i don't get fired.

*sigh* I just want to go back to bed.

That is sad about your kitty Keiko, I'm sorry to hear that. And yeah, no fun with the bad foods either Nos, but I think syrup just crystallizes when it gets really bad. I am having a less than stellar week myself. It's been a real mixed bag, ten steps forward and all, but some real hindrances and unexpected challenges as well.

Maple syrup "expires" but visibly so - if mold/yeast can get in, it can grow fur, but bacteria don't particularly like it. Honey is the thing which doesn't expire at all - because those darn bees include enzymes to preserve it (after all, they aren't making it for you).


I ate a can of 1960s corned beef once (not at the time.. it was the mid-90s) and it didn't do me any damage. Course, I don't recall every second of the week in hospital, so damage could've snuck though.. but I'm sure I was fine.
