Whooparse or none, that is disgusting (subject kind of close to my heart) and you have my sympathy.

Whats even worse is that the person fled. Who seriously can live with themselves doing such a thing? ugh..

I'm sorry about your loss. It's not fair and people that are stupid enough to drink and drive need to be severely punished.

Exactly. The one who hit me fled, too. And when I expressed my indignation to some dude, he said the driver was justified because he was probably scared of the repercussions.

Seems less 'justified' and more 'understandable'. You'd be surprised how unhelpful fines and jailtime can seem to alleviate a momentary lack of judgement, when in by all means it appears that you've learned everything there was to be learned from it seconds ago.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't stick around either, unless I was the only person in a position to get them medical attention. 'Course, my favored mode of transportation is a bicycle, so in my case you'd probably have a twisted ankle tops, and chances are my front wheel would be so bent out of shape you could still catch up if you hopped on after me.

When you say, "you", is this a general or collective "you"?

I'm sure the repercussions that came with his being in the military and driving his parents' car drunk on leave were enough.
