    Default Dealing with PMS

I'll be 24 in a month, I have a kid, and I've had my "little visitor" for nearly 14 years, yet I'm experiencing PMS for the first time. God, my 3rd trimester wasn't this terrible.

What's some tips, or tricks some of you have picked up along the way? Other than midol, that shit makes me sick to my stomach.

Hot baths and some peace and quiet. I try to sleep a little more and take it easy...because it makes me more prepared to not murder when I get a gnarly mood-swing.

Ibuprofen, Vodka and Weed. Comfy pants, Coffee and Video games. Every 29 days I end up in agony wishing I could just remove the whole uterus for a few days to stop the incredible cramping and pain in my abdomen, that leaves me chewing on my knees and begging for the above quick fixes. Heating pads (or over heating laptops) across the hips help too. Orgasms are great for relieving built up pressure, and of course a hot shower.

I become an evil bitch when my "gift" comes every month. One little thing can cause a mushroom cloud in this house and I'll go on a murder spree.

My husband tends to be the first victim. pooorr himm..haha. So he usually slaps a heating pad on my hips and tucks me in..awe..

The coffee exacerbates cramping. Really - it makes them much, much worse - and ironically that is when my coffee cravings peak.

Psh. I've been trying to get scientists to figure this one out for 10 years.... so far, they tell me to piss off because they have better things to do like growing ears on the back of rats and creating a super beer.

Nothing is more important than super beer. Do't they have some sort of birth control pill that cuts it down to like, 4 times a year? That seems pretty nifty. Yay scientists?

I think heating pads and electric blankets are a life saver. Medicine doesn't really help much. I second the hot bath tip too. And seriously masturbation helps for real... But not as much as heat.

Think about treating your PMS before it kicks in, as in earlier in the month. Cut down on caffeine, greasy and salty foods, and stick more to healthy foods and avoiding excessive alcohol (That's the one that I always mess up).

If you have no plans for more children, consider a low hormone birth control pill.
Other natural treatments are worth trying... Massage, accupuncture and orgasms. WOOOH!

Hey ladies, masturbation is not an odd way to treat cramps at all. It is one of the few PMS treatments which actually temporarily relieves the problem and not just the symptom. The contractions of an orgasm actually reduce the cramping and of course the endorphins are a plus. Orgasm used to be the only method I used to deal with menstruation symptoms. Feeling crampy and bloated and gross is really not something which puts me in the mood, but ya can't beat the orgasm for medicinal purposes.

What's the deal with women always seeming "horned up" during that time of the month? I've seen it over and over again in different woman.

Depending on the woman, shortly before PMS sets in is the most fertile time, so nature should make that when it is easiest to get a woman excited. I know I do not feel at all horned up actually during a bad period, but orgasm fixes the problem, and I'm goal-oriented. For the first bunch of years I had it, I don't think it changed my hormones that much where I was in my cycle. Hanging out with other women always effs up my period. One might think I'd have alpha-dog hormones, but my wimpy hormones bow down to women I pass in the street.

I usually take super long super hot showers, take some Pamprin or Midol, and have my man massage my back and my feet while hes at it, usually go to bed early to get some good sleep too.

Aside from the orgasm advice, this is the best here. I don't take any western medicine whatsoever; including advil/tylenol or anything otc for that matter. My fave remedy for pms is raspberry leaf. It cures moodiness and bloating. A little cayenne pepppper in hot water will help tremendously with cramps. I am also a big fan of exerscise.

    Hope that helps ya.
