    Jugular Wine...that's such a classic.

Transylvania 6-5000...I loved it as a kid and love it more as an adult. I can never explain why though.

Interview With A Vampire...it's just fun.

Dracula...the Lugosi original mind you...though the remake from the 90's was not too shabby.

side note anyone remember Kindred: The Embraced? It was that TV show based on the Vampire: The Masqurade rpg.

I know I'm forgetting a few but those pop to the top of my head.

I have to say there arent many I DONT like. I liked Lost Boys, and 1992 Dracula, by Coppola. I am currently waiting for some old black and white movies from the 30s (Bela Lugosis Dracula, etc) so I may have a different view soon

I have that one, I got it in a DVD collection with The Golem, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Hunchback, Phantom of the Opera, and The cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I think thats what started my fascination with the old movies, and silent films. Way back when, you actually had to have talent to make movies. Movies that come out now dont usually impress me, because you can tell they are all CGI. Maybe its just me.

Well the advantege that Silent Films have is that over 90% of them no longer exist...so what's left is usually the best of the bunch or considered the best since there is little of it's era to compare it to.

Yeah the film was beyond awful...it would have been ok if it was not based on such a well loved book.

nosferatu is a classic - especially when you get your local scary electronica man to write a new score. and the herzog/kinski remake is pretty damn fine too.

i saw 'shadow of the vampire' at all tomorrows parties this year but you can hardly go wrong with willem defoe, john malkovich and eddie izzard amongst your cast.

to be honest i find it difficult to find good vampire movies - my favourite recent horror was cabin fever. dead end, wrong turn and the like were so bloody BORING. but i would recommend $la$her$, especially to anyone who has ever considered applying for big brother, and everyone in the entire world should see Battle Royale.

sorry, what was the question again?

Leave it to me to be the non-conformist here. I hate vampires and vampire movies. I am like a total werewolf freak and unfortunately there haven't really been any good werewolf movies aside from Underworld and Bad Moon Rising. Also (gonna REALLY show my age here) does anyone recall the short-lived but awesome none-the-less TV series "Werewolf"? Why do networks do this to us, put on good shows but take them off as soon as "out-there" people begin to enjoy them (Just like with Kindred, which I never got to see a single episode of)

    Oh, indeed.

The glamourous vampire trend has gotten out of hand. It was cool and everything in the '50s, but seriously, give me a nice feral band of vampires roaming from gutter to gutter, squatting in caves and abandoned buildings, robbing people, tricking people into joining or becoming prey....

...anyway, Kiefer Sutherland in Lost Boys was sex -- and I don't normally say that about blonde guys.

Anyway, that's probably the only redeeming quality I can see in the original series Buffy: the Vampire Slayer (as opposed to the original movie) -- most of the vampires were unapologetic street-trash. Angel is a weenie and NEEDS TO BE STEAKED. Fuck Angel -- take me to Santa Carla and give me David.

    'The Hunger'..
I liked how all Miriams lovers aged while she did not..how David Bowies character, John, tried to find something that would keep him young at least young enough to live forever with Miriam...I think this vampire movie is a little different in the way that it portrayed the pain of Miriams character about living for ever and losing so many of her lovers.

Definetely "Near Dark". Every movie that has Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton as the bad guys, and Jack Deth himself, Tim Thomerson, as the good guy, as well as a brilliant score by fellow germans Tangerine Dream deserves my love

Oh yes, The Hunger, I LOVE how Catherine Deneuve keeps her old boyfriends in coffins in the attic!!

I think every girl should keep her ex-boyfriends in coffins in the attic, don't you?

hmmm...dracula by francis ford coppola (though in my opinion Keanu Reeves - canoe reeves as i like to call him - was a bad choice of actor due to his wooden acting ability)
dracula 2000 - just for the "huh?" factor of dracula being judas ascariot!
interview with the vampire - loved the book and the film does it justice
nosferatu - though i'm scared of mimes i can only just stand to watch it..have to have some sort of sound in the room though..hate silent films.
blood:the last vampire - although its anime, its still good

used to like queen of the damned and i still think its a okay vampire flick but now that i've read the book it makes me annoyed that it doesn't do it justice as well as interview managed to...

FONT=Garamond]The Hunger definately lies within my top couple of vampire movies. I use to hate Coppola's Dracula, but that was really because my Dad hated it, but since I've watched it more, I've come to like it. Also. . Lost Boys is very well done, Interview with a Vampire just because Cruise and Pitt pull off Lestat and Louis so perfectly.
I have to admit that I was extremely dissapointed with Queen of the Damned. . even though the soundtrack wasn't that bad.
And also . .I will probably get chastized for this . but I thought Blade was pretty well put together. The coneptualization of vampirism being another disease we all could contract was rather innovative. Although. . part 2 did kind of. . well . .SUCK[/FONT]

Nosferatu, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Lost Boys, Shadow of the Vampire, and yes, even Interview and Brahm Stoker's Dracula.

All of the Christopher Lee films go without saying........and Legosi was good too.

    I hadn't gotten here yet.

It's on the list. though not really a "vampire" movie.

Shadow of the Vampire is near the top.

If you go digging though blockbuster you'll also find
    "The Addiction" and "Chronos"

not your typical vampire films but worth a look

Nosferatu.... no comparison, you can't get much better than German silent horror films.
I like the Lost Boys and From Dusk Till Dawn has my favorite vampire quote (Did they look like psychos? They were vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are!)
The worst vampire movie I ever saw, was Blood Feast: Legend of the Chupacabras............. I have a nice collection of bad movies (anyone seen Story of Ricky?) but this one was so terrible that I stopped it after 15 minutes, drove back to Hollywood video, and slapped my friend that recommended the movie....... god it was terrible.
