Katatonia are awesome.... but I'm pretty sure Mikael Akerfeldt (sp?) only does vocals on one album (Brave Murder Day).... I do think that a few of the band members played with Mikeal in Bloodbath tho...

Skindred - Cool rasta metal band from England. A newer version of Bad Brains.
Skinny Puppy - One of the best fucking live shows I've EVER seen.
Rammstein - Same reason as Skinny Puppy
VAST - just great music, I definitely want to see them live.
Hansel und Gretyl - For those that like Otep, check them out.

Damn straight, great music. I can't believe that guy does everything himself, though. He's really incredible. O_o Though I must admit, I like the first album better than the most recent two. (The new does have some redeeming songs. )

lots of the band s already mentioned- I'll try and name some of my favorites and some unusuals-
Bile!!!!- yes they've been mentioned- but it doesn't get much better!!
just heard OTep for the first time a few months ago- and yeah- they fuckin rock!!! There are no female lead vocalist in metal with balls like that!!!A-fuckin'-mazing!!!
suprisingly I don't think anyone has mentioned Rasputina- a must hear!!-especially for anyone who considers themself "goth"!!
One of my personal favorites(maybe its because Im a bassist) Morphine- I can think of few bands that embody thier name so fully. theres nothing like a groove set down by a 2-sting-slide-bass!!!
Just heard a band named Converge that are pretty damn slammin!!
my profile has most of my faves-
like I said lots are already listed-

    I love Rasputina!!!! Great stuff!

Also: Lacuna Coil. It's a wonderful, wonderful mix of male and female voices! And it's so...I dunno. Moving.
