Default The lame thread for losers like myself?

Okay so when I was younger like between the ages whatever till about 10 or 11 I used to collect comics. (then I just forgot about them & didn't care) Thing is I never had the money to ever get anyone of the ones I wanted. So for some odd flashback to a neglected childhood urge I decided to buy myself all the comics I always wanted when I was little. Thanks to ebay it was relatively cheap as well. I bought all the number 1 issues of all the 2099 charachtors, a few special spider-man issues, & venom #1. We'll while browsing ebay I ran into some other comics I never heard of that looked pretty cool & were dirt cheap so I decided "eh why not" so I picked up a cupple razor comics not knowing what they were, but I did find out that they have a Razor: Switchblade Symphony special. (wich is a must sinse I love SS) well anyway my point being, I know it's completely immature & a waste of money, but does anyone else out there like comics?

Big fan...enough to take a gamble on them as a profession. For me they are better than books, movies, music, and any other artform combined. There is just so much you can do...and it's all in your hands.

Some are awesome, others are horrible.

Venom and Carnage are among My favorite Super- Villains though. (Not sure about the spelling. ) **

by adult I don't mean sexual, I just mean more mature themed. I'd be intrested in checking some out perhaps.

Time to make a "Comics to read" list again...their was an old thread full of recommendations. I'll have to put one together again...or at least a detailed response here.

For now....go to the comic shop and buy the fist collection of Preacher of The Sandman...both will keep you quite happy and enthralled.

I used to read a LOT of the marvel titles when I was younger.
I grew up with characters like 'Spiderman', 'Ironman', 'the Fantastic Four', 'X-men' ect ect. I have a collection of comics dating back to the 60's up at my cottage. I think they're worth quite the fortune now.

I love Sandman... the whole idea just appeals to me in a brilliant fashion. And I love comics... my boyfriend does as well. Spiderman was the coolest! And still is, of course.

Maybe we'll need to bust out that film and print and scan it for posterity.

Vertigo has one that's pretty good called Y the Last Man.

Also look for trade paperbacks of The Adventures of Barry Ween Boy Genius it's on Oni Press

Sandman, Death, Preacher, and Lucifer aren't too bad either

I'm sure there are fans out there who'd appreciate it. The comic was actually pretty good until the whole "bad girl" trend at the time swallowed it whole.

man- theres no shame in it MG!! Comics have really evolved as an art for. I don't collect anymore either but I still love all that art, and after going through art school, maybe I should say especially after, I still would rather kick back with some cool comics than go to a show of half the schlock abstract punks out there.
