A lot of restaurants will give you one or the other of these beverages, depending on which they have, no matter which one you ordered. Do they taste the same to you or do you have a preference?

I dont drink soda anymore, as I get sick from them, but here is my prefered order of root beer of those brands.

Barg's

Dr. Pepper.

Mr. Pibb

I prefer not to drink sugary carbonated drinks. Don't like them too much. To me, all root beer drinks taste the same. All coke drinks taste the same. I just opt for tea, water, or juice

Dr. Pepper. And it's either plums or prunes that it's flavoured with, can't remember just now. Named for the Dr. who invented it he added the Pepper because of the peppery taste. Mr pib is definitly a watered down version.

I am just excited about trying the new Dr. Pepper, Cherry Vanilla. I don't think it has reached Michigan yet. I think Mr. Pibb is similar to Dr. Pepper but it definitley tastes different, contrary to popular belief.

I get mr. pibb when available. I've only seen it maybe 3 times in my life. I enjoy the novelty of it's rareness. Dr. pepper is prob. better though. Ever drink prune juice? taste like dr. pepper. kinda...
Also as far as root beer. Saranac makes the best imo.
