I myself want a pitbull, simply to train it well and show people that it's not the dog that's bad but the breeder's and owners heh. too many people read into hype and not facts. hehe i doubt you'll have much trouble with the puppy though.

I had a pittbull for 6 years, and my old roomates coudlnt handle her, so she went to stay with my mom temporarily. Now my mom, who has 4 chihuahuas, wont give her back. She loves her sooo much!! Its all how you train them. They do tend to be dog-agressive though.

Wow, you poor thing. Part Jack Russel? Ouch, lol.
I have one, and he is crazy. They always go-go-go-go. He's been hit by a car twice before we took him in and never had to go to the vet for it. The previous owners refused to answer the door when someone brought him back because they didn't want him back. After having him for 5 or so years, I can't say I really blame them, but he's mostly my mother's dog, so he's her responsibility, hah!
I'm glad you didn't pay for the lil one. I strongly believe you should never have to pay for an animal [i.e. paying 500$ for a purebred] when you got all the other ones for free at the shelter that end up having to be put down. Don't suppourt back yard breeders, they just add to the mass populations of homeless cats and dogs. =/
