    Default Latex: the hidden beauty

...what a goddamn melodramatic title. Sounds like a freakin' White Wolf game...

Alright, I recently discovered something. While perusing this worldwide international network of interlinked computers for photographic images of great artistry featuring women elegantly attired in leather or less, it was brought to my attention by a colleague that for some reason a great number of latex fetish sites feature goth models.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but for some reason I was. It just hadn't clicked before. The gothic subculture has had a long-standing connection with fetish communities, and, well-- the Latex fetish is a popular one overall, and it does look rather natty.

I should now point out that my interests here are not in the women under the clothing-- for a change-- but the clothing itself. Latex is often found, along with PVC, leather, etc. in clothing popular to the subculture, and about the various cuts and designs.

I'd like to discuss here latex as a material for fashion purposes, any vqarious pieces of latex attire, and particular designs people like. Also, while latex is the main subject here, Goth subculture damn well likes a lot of other substances- velvet and all and more. If you've got any comments to make on other materials, I'd be obliged to hear them too.

(Just remember mixing two or more materials in one garment is illegal by Jewish law. I'm not sure how it's relevant, 'cause I'm having a cheeseburger right now, which is probably even less relevant.)

Hey, I enjoy White Wolf. :P

As for latex, I think the reason it's obsessed over and worn is the way it clings to the body. Either that, or the way it begs to be peeled off.

    Observe:

Doesn't that just make you want find out what's underneath it? Though she has no clothes on, you certainly know what her figure is. Alot of people see latex as a symbol of dominance, ie., dominatrix-style.

Sorry, but you can't tell the front of her outfit is latex. :|

Yeah, latex is lovely and clingy, neh. I'm interested in what it's like to work with-- have you ever made something with it?

I can understand that Latex has become integreated with fetish and ergo subdom, but how's about a pair of latex bracers for the arms? Good idea?
Thing is, latex gloves are so passe

Also, Werewolf: The Apocalypse is like the best RPG ever.

I LOVE latex, but it is sooo expensive. There is a clothing line called 'Deviations' that makes vinyl that I swear to heaven wears and feels like LATEX, but its cheaper. It can even be washed. I'll find you that link because their clothes are amazing and you will think they are latex....

Didn't some company make a latex that you could just paint onto your body as clothes?

I wonder if the latex you can dip the handles of your tools into for better grip would work as paintable latex clothing as well?

Hmmmm.... This is giving me photo ideas...

Latex is sooo awsome feeling, but I wouldn't suggest wearing it outside into an area with high heat all the team. Trust me from experience, latex hurts when it burns.....it hurts like a bitch
