Default how do I move wood?

I have aquired a fairly large peice of wood, it's about 5 feet by five feet and about 1.5 inches thick. I need to move this peice of wood to a secure location about a 1/8 of a mile away, so that rednecks don't steal it and turn it into a nascar or a gun rack or something, on account of a large peice of wood out in the open is very desirable to thieves. the problem is that such a peice of wood is very akward and impossible to carry with one person, so put your minds togther and tell me how i can move this wood.

How'd they move that log with Lisa's head on it in The Simpsons? I'd use that method.

Yeah a dolly is your best bet.

    build small wheels on it
or put grease on one side and pull it
    or use a teleport device....
....or maybe buy a slave to do it for you

    How to Move wood..............

    1. take it in either hand or both if necessary, and hold firmly, but not too tight, be sure too grease your palms first though

    2. with a quick jerking motion, move your hands up and down the wooden shaft

if done properly, the wood will now produce a thick white sap and move on its own

Learn from our ancient egyptian friends, and roll it on poles. Get three or four pipes or poles and roll away. It's easy enough to do yourself with a bit of time. I moved my toolshed this way by myself.

yeah but then you have to move the poles again every few feet.

well thanks for all your advice guys. I ended up lugging that damn peice of wood about half a mile using a skateboard, a shopping cart and my self. now im taking a rest.

oh, and about a week ago i went to the country side, where i took a picture of a 200+ year old mulberry tree. one of it's 3 biggest branches was too heavy so the trunk couldn't support it anymore and the weight tore apart a third. i'm guessing the tree was host to many rats since the trunk is completely hollow.

Sounds like you've got things under control. No friends to help you move is tough, I know. It looks like you got the right way unless you want to hire a friend?
