I think that, due to the prevalence of the double standard, more women are likely to conform to social standards of decency. But no, I don't think they are inherently more moral or decent.

i think morality has more to do with the individuals personality/upbringing etc than it does their gender...ive met people at both ends of the scale, male and female alike...

the statistics say that 20% of women cheat and 40% of men cheat...i think that's a yes...women seem to "At least" be more loyal if not moral....but I mean thay are cheating 'with' someone..so if a woman decides to sleep with a married man..that makes her just as immoral..right?
I think that women and men are immoral for different reasons...men yeah they have a problem with putting their penis somewhere it doesn't belong...or just wanting to. But women I have found to be some of the most devious creatures...there are alot of women that want what they want and don't care who the slaughter on the way to it....

I think morality is a personal thing. Everyone has to live with themselves so really, as long as they live their life by their own standards, aren't they being moral?

I don't think that SAFE sexual infidelity (which, yes, I know is a bit of a contradiction in it's it's own, but bear with me for the sake of arguement...) Is a problem. the problem is emotional infidelity. I see a lot in my generation people thinking that because they aren't in a possesive relationship, then it's a healthy one. All they are doing is substituting the same patterns as thier parents emotional detachment with a physical one (usually on top of an emotional one as well.)

Is soldier more moral than slut?

"Normal" society views a soldier more moral than a slut hands down. But like I said morality is based on life experiences. A soldier has the dirty job of fighting somebody else's war, if that soldier is fighting for the greater good i.e. freeing a population from a dictator that is torturing them, and opressing the lives of many so that a few can become rich and live lavish lifestyles. Then killing is a necessary evil. You can not have war without casualties.

A slut on the other hand I believe is a little more complex. Is she doing it for personal pleasure? Then I wouldn't consider her immoral if she was in a relationship and the other half consented to it. If she is sleeping around for some kind of personal gain then I do believe that by using those individuals she has a lower standard of morality.

I'm sure I'm gonna get some flak for these opinions, I know both of them are open ended and can lead into many questons/points, but I'm not going to try to answer the unasked questions.

I sure hope you didn't just call me a hypocrite, the last thing I want to see is the killing and maiming of innocents, but when those immoral bastards who hide amongst innocent women and children to do their fighting what do you do?
