so i have an abscessed tooth and i am debating on whether or not to go to the hospital. i cant get into see my damn dentist until november, and my jaw is 2xs the normal size. do i go? or do i sit here in agony? that is the question

yeah, absesses need to be treated pretty quick or they swell like a beast

basically not do anything. thats the way stuff works out here, plus ive had this thing for about 2 months and my mom made me an appointment but never told them how bad my tooth was. im ready to just rip the fucking thing out of my jaw

The problems with infections, is that they can kill you, or turn into something really bad.

It's better to just go to a dentist, or a hospital, and get it looked at, if it is
swelling up like that... Then at least if it is really bad, they will have to
do something about it...

You should just go in to the dentist early.
I doubt they realize how bad it is, and if they see it,
they will probably take care of you right away...

thank god i just popped it. still hurts like hell but all that shit isnt making my jaw feel like its gonna explode

You should totally call the dentist and tell them how bad it is. At the very least, they will probably want to give you antibiotics. A serious jaw infection can really mess you up permanently.

I agree with Amelia, get to a Dr and get some antibiotics, being in the jaw, the infection can sprean through the head and get into the bloodstream, even to the brain.

yup yup hubby had a bad tooth infection like that one and he had to be put on antibotics before they could even pull it so the sooner the better

go and get it sorted - your regular dentist should have some form of emergeny line, and you can end up losing good teeth if an abcess is left unattended. this isn't a time to get choosy about who fiddles with your mouth - even an average dentist will be able to sort it out without complications, unless of course you leave it so long your whole gob ends up infected.

i just got back from the hospital. they gave me some penacillin and some tylenol 3's. so now i can stand life until monday again. its still sore but it doesnt feel like my head is going to explode anymore.

I would if you don't want permanent facial Damage. It can damage the delicate nerves in your jawline and set. Get it checked out.

I would go down to the dentist and show them how bad it really is. That way they'll at least look at it and maybe even do something about it, but definitely don't just sit around doing nothing.

Go to the Dentist. That can affect the teeth immediately around it. It gets worse if you wait.
