granted that 18 is a rather abitrary age, but sixteen year olds don't have the ability to make educated decisions. I know 16 year olds, they're fuck ups. and when I was 16, I was a fuck up. I think it should be 21 on all counts, including driving and voting.

yeah, but if you spend any time in the UK you'll learn that without nicotine, teenagers would probably end up spending all their hard-stolen cash on useful stuff like... crystal meth and alcohol. I only pass through the place and it adds 10 a day to my habit!

Voting : 18 (for everyone, including prisoners as of this year)
Driving : 17 for cars, 16 for small bikes, 21 for anything articulated or charging fares. You can drive a tank at 17 but can't vote on what it shoots at.

A lot of those ages were higher even a decade back when I first started visiting.. seems the UK govt wants to control their dangerous youth population by letting them drive Daddy's SUV over to the strip joint to buy some smokes and beer.
