    Default "My New Rig"

After several screaming fits associated with a certain californian pc company's INABILITY to follow simple, precise customer order instructions (they sent me the new machine in PIECES, as in, un assembled), I give you Obsidian Blue:

(and yeah, I preferred to put it together my way LOL):

Installing the lights was a nightmare. the case itself is a nice one, they are rather cheap too:

I'd be more impressed if you put up some specs. Just looks like a regular case-mod job to me.

I'll pretend you read the OP. Well, nevermind *farts in your mouth*

The case is NOT modded in any capacity. It is as how I bought the machine. The company I purchased the machine from was SUPPOSED to ship it to me pre-built, to save me a small smidgen of time.

It came in the shipping box in PIECES. I had to manually install all the lighting, the cards, sata/raid etc.

Noe go back to trolling successfully some other fucking place.

First you commented on the case being a mod, which it isn't, now you want specs. Make up your fucking mind which wrong you wanna admit to.

    The specs are:

    AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.4 ghz
512 mb [x2 now] Dual Channel 400 mhz bus ram *(ddr)
    Nvidia GeForce 6200 with Turbocache - 256MB
    80GB SATA-II 3.0GB/S 8MB 7200RPM HD
    COOLERMASTER AMD ATHLON 64 3700+FAN
    BLACK LG 24X DVD+-RW DRIVE
Logitech optical mouse + wifi keyboard

I already had a monitor and kept that one.

I'm not familiar with GeForces...is that a pci xpress card or an AGP?

    (I'm an ATI fan...)

It's not the best card, but its a serious up from what I had, indeed.

    It's pci-express, yes.

Pay attention. The first thing I said was that I wasn't impressed by looks, but specs.

The second sentance said it LOOKED like a case mod job. Forgive me for not instantly recognizing every one of a thousand stock cases on the market...

Looks like the only person wrongin' up the place is your goofy, defensive ass...

Ok normally I woulsd say "nice puter kid" but with the attitude you have taken with this thread and being that that is a pretty standard machine no such luck....

Next time you are looking for some "attaboys" and a pat on the back for your work dont be a dick about it...

And next time you put a machine together with a nice side window like that.. take the time to do some wire management...Not only will it improve the looks through the window but it will help with air flow and over all cooling (If you ever build a powerful machine)

I guess what I am really trying to say is Drop the attitude its a plain jane computer and nothing that god damned special!

Hey Shiven, notice that I wasn't the one to say it, ass-bag. My workstation could grind you into the dirt only running at half-efficiency. So before you try to cop an "internet-toughguy" attitude (which we all know is worth about as much as a Hello-Kitty bumper sticker) maybe you should do a little research.

You tried to give me shit because I assumed it was a custom job.

Hell, if it actually had been, I might have thrown you some respect....

Don't want praise for it. I thought some of you might post some neat stuff about your own machines. End.

It really bugs me when stuff shows up needing assembly like that. If I wanted to build something, then I would probably have ordered the pieces separately. Nice looking case though.

    Thank you...
    inspired by yourself
    and Forrest.

    Gotta have the porn
    as one can never
    have too much.

    And yes... I have quite
    the array of editing tools,
    software and whatnot.

    Including a Dazzle 150,
    video source input device,
    with on board digitizer
    chipset.

    More audio software than
    anyone should ever have,
all left over from my recording
    studio business... most of the
    Steinberg catalog... Wave Lab
    and others.

Not to mention most of the
    entire Sony software catalog
    as well... DVD Architect and
    the rest...

    Nudemuse had
picked up a NEC dual layer
    DVD burner for during my
    recovery, so have been learning
    how to construct actual DVDs
    with menuing, chapters and
    title graphics.

PS Do you need a video editor?

that sire is a nice computer, although i think you have to much time on your hands to be having that much porno, get out more ffs :P

my spec is far from impressive

    P3 3Ghz
    2.4Gb DDR400
Radeon 9550 (worst part and i hate it)

case is a thermaltake Xaser 3 (too big, gonna get a new one)

unfortuinatly my next upgrade is more than i can afford for a while as ill need to replace the motherboard to cater for PCI-E and gonna add some sata hard drives at some point, currently have 400gb and no more than 2Gb free

Hmmm... hate the 9550?... have you tried
    Omega drivers or SoftMod drivers?

As far as getting out more, well...
    considering the state has decided
that I'm disabled - since when was
    missing a teste considered disabled?
But I'll take it however it happens
    to go...

    My "little rig" is
    Athlon XP 2600+
    1st edition Throughbred
    w/unlocked multiplier
    running @ 2100Mhz

    1Ghz PC3200 Dual Channel
    running @ 420FSB

    Radeon 9600 Pro
    Modded Catalyst 6.3
    w/ATI Tools
    running @ 420Mhz

and a bunch of other shit
    stuffed in a mid tower...
    two opticals - CD-RW & DVD_RW,
    5 HDDs, raid/IDE controler card
    (NEVER buy a PROMISE
    raid card... stick with SYBA
    or SIIG, anything BUT Promise)
    Thermatake 420w PSU,
    SB with LIVE drive,
TI firewire card... on and on.

Then again, I was a tech for
many years and build my own
    and know waaaaaaaay too much
    about computers, just ask anyone
who happens to ask me a computer
    question.

Hmmm... considering you meet the system
requirements and the 9500 series is a supported
card... I would think it would be worth a shot
to try out SoftMod drivers or even NGO,
the NGO drivers give me 200 - 400 FPS
    in NFS5 @ 1280x1024.

Also ATI Tools would be a good thing for you
as well, give you an idea where to start.
If you are familiar with regedit or comfortable
enough to do a registry tweak... BACKUP first,
but you can give an IRQ priority... either AGP or
system CMOS for faster I/O throttling....

(Disclaimer: I assume no responsibility for anyone
fucking up their system by not doing a registry
backup before attempting this, you have been warned)

    Go into [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ PriorityControl],
    create a new DWORD: IRQ#Priority,
putting the actual IRQ number in place of #, system CMOS is
usually 8... or AGP, I would go with the AGP IRQ in your case
for improved bus speed and faster frame rates.

After talking with a fellow gamer
there are actually TONS of tweaks
and other things to make your
    gaming experience in Oblivion better...
since I don't own the game, yet,
but I remember back to the release
of Black & White and just how much
of a monster (for some machines)
    it could be to run.

Let me know if you use any of the
modded drivers or reg tweak and
if there's anything I can do to help,
just let me know. If it can't be fixed
    then fuck it... hehehe.
