just curious to see if anyone else loves the thrift stores as much as i do. it takes patience, but i just had the best trip there ever, i got a skirt and a pair of pants and a pvc jacket and a couple of t-shirts and a skull candle whose eyes light up all for arond 20 bucks. *sigh* hooray for the salvation army thirft store!

so yeah.... anybody else go thrifting?

I dig 'em. This one by my house is huge. They put it in an old grocery store, it's simply massive. I've found some cool stuff there. I mostly buy the '70 art for the cool frames. On a sour note, I've also become acustomed to the awfull smell of that place. I keep a bottle of Purel in the glove box. I'm a little germ-a-phobic and can't help but imagine that everything is covered in a thin film of fecal matter.

ya i love them, i have found some really kickass clothes there....although the one i go to doesnt smell because i live on the edge of some richass sub-division and the thrift store is right next to it so it is made just to be a thrift store....

I absolutely love them. The one I go to is a small one for an animal rescue orginization. Despite it's size, I have never failed to find something awesome. The money goes to a great cause and it's insanely cheap so I can't feel bad buying anything. Yumm!

    Value Village kicks ass...
    always have to drag Muse
    out kicking and screaming
with a metric ton of books
    and other goodies.

Even better is that they have an
    eGay online store... to save
    us from the unreasonable
    setting of the thermostat in
    there, damned little old ladies
that work there with their six
layers of sweaters and they are
    still cold.

We don't have "thrift stores" as such over here. We do Discount stores, which have some cool stuff in. The one next to where I live doesn't sell clothes but does sell toys and food and random stuff. I've gotten some really random things like toys for nieces and nephews for under £5, chocolate for as little as 10 pence a bar, and cans of coke for 25 pence.
    Long live "HOME BARGAINS!"

There is a place here Stupid Prices,
they aren't a thrift store but as the
name implies they have some cheap
    shit... everything from canned goods
    to plasma televisions.

Then there's always a Big Lots store
    in every neighbourhood.. for more
cheap shit... I actually bought a
portable gun safe for traveling with
my pistols from one back east, only
paid like $12 for it... more than worth
it since my Desert Eagle .50 fits nicely
    along side the DE .357.

i do! there's one in town called why buy new and I bought this game controller for my girlfriend's brothers ps1-a game-a little ceramic skull and killbill1 and 2 for like thirty bucks(the dvds were only six bucks a pop!) plus they have some really nice leather jackets there for like thirty which I wanna see about getting sometime soon if theyre in my size. plus the way it looks kinda reminds me of the gas station that capt. spaulding runs in house of a thousand corpses lol

the Salvation Army is number one when you're after blankets that smell funny, back issues of the Reader's Digest and National Geographic, and absolutely hideous lamps (usually chartreuse[1]-coloured).

[1] the colour, not the booze.
