The Cowboy Beebop movie was awesome, dont know if that was mentioned before. I dont really watch anime all that much though. But if you wanna see a really great anime series you should definelty check out Berserk

"Final Fantasy - Advent Children" was recently released in English for the North American Market. Even if you know nothing of final fantasy, the film is unbelievable.

Tenchi No Tamago (Angel's Egg) - a perfect film if you're wanting you head severely f**ked with.

The Urotsokidoji series is pretty cool too - plenty of the old tentacles involved there.

As for series -

Excel Saga is fantastic - what other series has the main character die less than 10 minutes into the first episode, then it gets mor bizarre from there...

Ranma 1/2 - Main character is a boy who becomes a girl when hit with cold water. Bizarre but hilarious at the same time
