Default Rozz Williams, Bestiality, and Nails which Stick Out

I only met Rozz Williams once.

A bunch of the Blue Blood crew were in Los Angeles, celebrating the release of Blue Blood #5. That was the first full color issue of the magazine. Id used a comic book printer who did high quality art repro and had no problem printing depictions of nude women...

i still listen to Rozz. I think he was the first deathrock style i heard besides Sisters of Mercy.
Its crazy how you can trash something you have, and then when its gone not know and wish you had it. (referring to the people trashing Rozz, then mourning him)

Rozz, Shadow Project and Christian Death were huge parts of my early goth years. I only got into then right before he killed himself, as I was only like 16 or 17 then, but me and my BF at the time were obsessed fans. My parents of course hated it and looking back I can see why his whiney, wailing, screaming sounds of misery might not appeal to them :-) But at the time I just thought they couldn't relate to my pain and were blind to the injustices of the world.

When I was 17 I cut 6 incisions into my right arm as an "ode to Rozz" scar and tattoo piece, which I later got 6 bats tattooed flying through. The whole reason was actually for a song which I later found out Valour wrote (oops) but nonetheless the symbolism is the same to me. I still have pix from when I did it.

Even though I rarely listen to CD these days I still enjoy it and on the rare occasion that a club plays it I am thrilled. Not that I can remember the last time that happened, but still....

I felt a bit out of the loop reading that article (The parts mentioning Rozz Williams) so I went and did some research. I have to say that man wrote some good music. I'm actually listening to some now via *******. See? ******* is not completely horrible : )

"People often ask me to pin down precisely who Blue Blood is for. Gothic, body modification, deathrock, punk, fandom, glam, rivethead, ad infinitum. Really, Blue Blood is for people who have moved through a lot of subcultures. For people who have that maverick something different. Who feel a certain attraction in a lot of those scenes, but who do not feel wholly satisfied in any particular one. Blue Blood is for people who enjoy exploring and experiencing the creative fringes, and the cultures which thrive there, but don’t want to cram themselves into some cookie-cutter mold."

    I like that quote alot.

I too, like that cookie-cutter mold quote

I'm amused with others reactions with my versatility. I totally love how people think I'm some "homie" but then realize otherwise when I open up and they get to know me.

I have 1334 tattood on my knuckles, Rozz rocks my socks off.

Insecure people just like anywhere else. I think the best solution is to just be patient with people and as best one can help them on their way towards "self illumination". It's hard to be the one who has to lead, but it's also an honorable undertaking. Thank you for helping the lost ones find their way.

Anyway, I really, really wish I had bought that issue of Blueblood that is pictured. I remember taking it off the shelf, looking at it, and being poor at the time, thinking I could buy it later. But that was not to be, even after diligent searching for it. I haven't seen any of the early Bluebloods except that one. But that specific issue that I did see had a great impact on me. By a long shot, the hottest "porn" I've ever seen. Being a woman, it's the ONLY porn or erotic depiction of any kind that has ever turned ME on. Like, Wow. I so wish I had that mag for my library. Now that is the way it should be done.

Shit, I have that issue somewhere. I certainly have the pic of the strap on and the ewe.

Had "Only Theatre of Pain" when I was a teenager... Loved it! But... I couldn't have appreciated his vocal style without first hearing Bauhaus, The Cure, and Skinny Puppy. Most of my grunge-listening friends didn't really get it and just laughed uncomfortably. "Let's play Roman soldier..." Very transgressive!
