God I could not come up with a title that sounded right!

So for Valentines this year I got a puppy from my lover, and he got one for himself. I have been wanting one for years now so I am so so so happy to have 2 little babies to love! Seriously, they are adorable. I will post pix as soon as I get my shit together and take some :-)

To preface my question I should mention they are very needy puppies. VERY NEEDY! They are not actually even puppies, they are rescue animals and they are full grown. But they have impaired my sex life. How does one go about having sex when one has needy animals? We tried locking them in the second bedroom but the rambunctious one pawed at the door and whined so much that it was distracting and we felt sorry for her. Any solutions?????

i lived in a house where a hippie refused to discipline her dogs, they ran the house unless she was out of town. i didn't put up with the dogs fighting and carrying on, and they seemed happier for that.

Poor little babies are so freaked out too cause one got fixed the same day my lover adopted him and the other is just NUTS, only 1 and already had babies and was a stray all her life. So cute though. I am sure once they are adjusted and trained they will be more obediant.....

they really are just like kids, in that they need boundries, and to know what's expected of them.

those poor dogs i lived with were constantly being given mixed messages, and just sort of went beserk as a result.

i don't know much about how to train dogs, or dog psychology, and such. i just know that when the hippies were out of town, and i was left to watch them they were okay. much calmer. *shrugs* what'er ya gonna do?

I have a cat who gets very protective over me, especially when I cuddle with my boy or have sex. I finally gave up trying to lock her out of the room. Its weird, she doesnt watch she just wants to make sure Im ok, then she leaves us alone.

Yer pups defineately need boundaries. It could be a case of seperation anxiety as well. There are a few possibilities of why they act that way, but the pawing at the door when you locked her out defineately sounds like anxiety issues. Seperation anxiety is a lengthy process to eliminate. You pretty much have to go into another room with the door closed then come out over and over, but increasing the times that you are in the room. This way your pups know that you guys will be coming back out, and pawing and crying isnt going to get them you. It worked with my old pup that used to do that.

Try that and see where it gets you. Everytime you come out, make sure you give them lots of attention, that way they know that they will be rewarded if they sit tight. Also, once you start this process, do it quickly enough the first few times so they dont have the opportunity to show those behaviors. If they do, and you reward them, you are only going backwards. Good luck, and congrats on your new babies!

awww, yay for new puppies!!! Given some time and training, they'll learn when to leave you alone for a bit.... at first we had to lock our kittens out of the room when we wanted to have sex, but after a while they learned to leave us alone during those times and we can leave the door open now.

They are so much better. Almost entirely potty trained already! They WANT to be good, they just don't know how. I think they are beginning to understand our walk and pee time schedule. I got a few pointers from my roomie as well which really helped :-) Stilla few days left till I see my boy and experiment with having SEX! But I think they are way more adjusted now than last week, now that they realize they are spoiled and loved and all:-)

My cats like to get on the bed when we're having sex. They just stare and it's kinda uncomfortable, sometimes we have to lock them out of the room, living room, etc. Oh yeah, I should mention it's male on male sex =P

My fiance got me an American Staffordshire Puppy. At 6 weeks (now 10 weeks), it was definately a needy little thing. Add that to two cats, a nine month old Pit/Jack Russel mix that apparently has blue heeler to boot, an Iguana and a snake and the evening often goes to hell.

The saving grace:
Proper crate training.
Proper obediance training.
Two very large, meaty bones.

Only when these three things come to pass, will you be returned to really good sex.

So here's some randomness...this has nothing to do with your problem, but I felt compelled to share. I lived in a house on the property of the animal shelter I worked at for awhile, which came standard with an adorable, bed hogging pit bull. My boyfriend at the time and I had just finished having sex, and Theona totally came up and licked his ass cheek. Cracked me up, because it wasn't me. I've also had my cats try to attack my hand when they see it moving under the covers, which has led to some penis pouncing. They know how to ruin some moods, and create some entertainment.
