Default Share A Band You Don"t Thik We Have Heard Of Yet....

    Mine's Shpongle.

I heard them for the first time on an art bus at Burning Man, on LSD, last summer. The band was actually formed while one of the members was on LSD and said he felt Shpongled. The music has many layers composed of unusual instruments. It's a blend of electroinc, tribal/ world type beats.... I can't describe it OR find a good website to send u to, but if you do a search on the iternet there are a few places you can listen to it :-)

Shpongle.com takes you to a site that is NOT Shpongle, but has info about them.....

They have at least one video on youtube too. They definitely were shpongled Hard to really describe em. I like it though.

I've been way more into finding new tunes since I have everything organized. I'd be getting into locals and ukrainian bands for stuff at least someone here hasn't heard of.

I've been listening to more of the following lately:

    Cinema Strange
Hank Williams III (Official Bootlegs puts all current "punk rock" bands to shame)
    Coleman Hawkins (Mad Tenor Sax)
Sister Vanilla (Sister of Jesus and Mary Chain )

I have a shitload of new stuff, but a lot of it ain't even new. I'm doing a v-line back to what I've always loved.

The following bands are all the Emo Ball approved.

I don't know when Texas Teri hits LA again, but to me this is the live show to see. She is like a young Jagger or Iggy Pop... in a good way.

The LeperKhanz do old Irish drinking and fightin songs, and covers of some pop and rock songs with the same awesomeness. The important thing here is that they made Cake metal!

http://profile.*******.com/index.cfm...iendid=9953897 just set out with a new line up, so I can't say how they sound now, but they rocked enough with the old line up that you should give them a try.

And finally the Country Stars, because they always make me want to dig out the Social Distortion stuff, without trying to be Social D.

I will post again when I get a chance to give your guyses bands a listen.

Oh, and TeTe a little folky, I don't speak a lick of French, but the music is cool and the videos have style.

They're a Cinema Strange side project. I can't really describe them haha. You will still hear the Rozz era Christian Death era influence. I'll post more later. I've only started keeping up since I organized my collection.

    That is my heritage....lol

Graqs was a pain in the ass... I never got the chance to see them. I tried 7 different times, and 6 of those times, I was unable becasue something would come up.. Flat tire, missing tickets, work... Then the last time, I was 5 minutes away from the show, and I found out that the show was canceled,... Becasue they broke up... I was pissed, and heart broken

I love Cinema Strange, last album is more than amazing!

I don't know how popular are in U.S.A., but lately I' m really into ALL GONE DEAD, death rock old school, a bit punkish and remotely similar to Fear Cult , drum machine and contagious riff, and perfect to dance on in a goth club..

And the bass player, Darlin'Grave, is fuckin' great!!

And LADYTRON are very good too, they played recently here in Milan as support to NIN, they're a female synth-pop band, very cute, some sort of Soft Cell modern version..

I love Dresden Dolls too I'll be offline only for awhile after today or tomorrow, but we should exchange music lists sometime. Here is KK's site http://www.katzenjammer-kabarett.com . I honestly couldn't tell u how popular any of these bands are here in The States (or which clubs would play em). I'll be researching this more for my next site though.

I've got a new one..DEADFLY ENSEMBLE , Cinema Strange's Lucas Lanthier's side-project..death rock, visionary lyrics, a voice that resembles Siouxie Sioux and Andi Sex Gang as special guest..

    Ladytron is awesome!

I also like 69 Eyes! But my ex introduced me so I haven't been happy listening to them lately.

They play sort of Goth/Rock, similar to Type O Negative! It's awesome.

Fela Kuti- Amazing Afrobeat fusion. They put on one of the best shows out there bar none. If their music doesn't make you get up and shake it your ass is broken.

Afro Cuban Allstars. 4 generations of some seriously amazing beautiful music. The documentary about the group is really fantastic.

Faux Mutu Moko Boye- African Rhumba music. If you like reggae you'll probably like this whole genre. Even better if you happen to speak French. It's hard to be unhappy when you listen to this.

    Buckwheat Zydeco.
    - Zydeco music makes me insanely happy.

More Zydeco- Waylon Thibodeaux. Love him a lot he does more traditional music. And of course it's much more enjoyable if you speak/understand a smattering of French.

Afro Celt Soundsystem. I've rediscovered enjoyment of their music. Really excellent to chill out to. They put on an enjoyable show too.

A lot of stuff off of the Putamayo label. Lots of music from all over with a heart. Some of my favorite artists from there are: Angelique Kidjo, Taj Mahal, Idan Raichel, Ska Cubano.

    And that's all you get.
