I think it's already happening to an extent. I went to a Damned gig a while back and it was like 'punk's not dead - but it's certainly started collecting its pension'.

lol, I like your topic! I saw a couple old ladies in tight pink and black revenge of the 80's clothes just today, with teased hair and all. I wonder if we'll end up seeing a bunch of old ladies with bleached blond hair, khaki capris, and flip flops in the future? This would be much scarier than old goth ladies in my opinion!

What do you think you'll look like and listen to when you're 70?

As long as we don't end up wearing pastels I think we'll be ok.

Of course - they already do..and my friend- it won't be too long until you and I will be 'them'...Rock only got going a half century ago..so it's a whole new culture that's now an established genre - like country western..those old farts haven't given up on that have they?

With some of those hard livin' 40s punkers, it would seem the elderly are already screaming anarchy and kickin' some geriatric ass.

Me and my friends had this discussion ..Kinda freaky...Think that one day our kids will say "you mean you owned a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo...And a 1969 Lincoln Continental...WOW That must have been awsome...."
Cuz I have said that to my dad...He used to own a 1969 Baracuda 440+6....And I have always wanted one of them...

Just kinda weird that the things we do now like the music we listen to will one day be played on an Oldies Station...

How about when you tell the new generations you were born before the year 2000. That will be trippy. Or you can remember a time before all the nuclear weapons were diployed reducing a majority of the world to a radioactive hellholem and in your time cockroaches weren't the size of pintos and you didnt have to live in fear of being eaten by them

I listen to NPR a lot and I listen to the Diane Ream show when I can (yeah, yeah, no Ream jokes please). I missed this really cool talk on 30s gangsters and went to the website to listen. I went to her page and was in shock. With her voice you'd assume at youngest she is in her seventies, and she was a reporter back in the 70s, but my good God above, she was the hottest lady over 40 I have ever seen in my life. Totally blew away most ladies, of most any age.

My ex-wife used to say she was going to spend her declining years smoking as much pot as possible.

I think The Stones have completely lost their edge, and totally suck ass, but that's just me. Besides, i didn't really expect them to maintain "it" this long, so it's not like i'm disappointed or anything.

Well if they lost their edge -then that must've happened decades ago..do they still tour? Now Bowie is another issue- P.
