Default If someone you were dating told you to . . .

Would you avoid certain people if someone you were dating told you to avoid hanging out with them, not because they made observations which changed your mind about the people, but because they did not like them or thought they were hot for you?

There was a time I would and did do that.

I lost good friends for people who were abusive and manipulative.

mmm I did that, sadly almost lost A really good friend because of it. She was really hurt but took me back after the whole break up thing.. she knew why I did it, and after we talked a bit and kind of mended things we are now starting to make plans again to hang out on occasion

my most recent ex asked that of me alot. i thought it was unreasonable and told him so, frequently. eventually he saw the light. it flashed big red letters : you can't tell me who my friends are. I humored him for a while but in need of some kind of social interaction i ended up talking to my friends again. they're my friends after all.

Hell no. It can be a problem, but you have to make time for your friends, or you will lose them. And it also sucks if you break up, and realize you were neglecting all your friends, and now they are all gone. I try to imagine my life if I was not seeing someone. If I think that I would have no one to call, or no one to hang out with, that's a bad sign. You want to maintain your friendships, even if you are in a relationship.

it's easier to dump someone like that than to avoid people you know

I've never allowed anyone to dictate things like that to me.
Probably 'cause I'm too much of a selfish asshole

But I have lost a few friends that way...one I still miss big time.
I can honestly say that it totally sucks to be on the receiving end of it...but in the end, if you really care about someone, and they make a choice, or are struggling with that choice, a friend over what could be the love of her life, I walked away. I would rather know that she is happy and living a good life then interfere or be the cause of a life long 'what if'

...ok this is making me sad...time to look at porn
