    Default Little Gems

Have any movies that were never really popular or are old that are excellent finds/treasures? I really enjoy a lot of older horror and suspense films. I am recommending two, one is called Dark of the Night aka (Mr. Wrong), the other Afraid of the Dark.

My favorite movie is Company of Wolves. I also like Gothic, and Snow White, A Tale of Terror.
I once saw a really crappy movie called Strawberry Estates. All but 2 seconds (literally) of the movie sucked ass, but those 2 seconds made it worth it. We actually screamed then had to pause the film while we laughed and caught our breath. Have to watch it in the dark.
Criminally Insane is hilarious. My grandmother and I laughed ourselves sick.
Tagline: She's 250 Pounds of Maniacal Fury!
An obese woman recently released from an insane asylum kills anyone who attempts to get her to stop eating.
It's not supposed to be funny, which makes it even more so.
I also like movies like Gin gwai (really creepy scenes in that).

Oh, and Session 9 isn't that old, but it's good and creepy. Not really horror, more psycological thriller.

suspira is indeed one of the all time baddest assed creep out movies ever... the sound track by goblin is nothing short of amazing... after watching that movie i wouldn't walk because it'd thrown me into a massively paranoid state...

in the company of wolves is another good one- totally kooky. i really like that one...

... going with the horror theme- The Raven- starring Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, and Peter Lorry. not really scarey, just awesome... Masque of the Red Death-V.Price again... those old hammer horror movies are my faves...

...Shanghi Triad-directed by Zhang Zimou, who also directed 'raise the red lanter' another masterpiece... Shanghi Triad, is probably the most gangster movie i've ever seen in my life. it's disguised as period piece/showcase for his favorite actress Gong Li, and has a reeeeeaaaaal slow burn...but damn the pay off is probably one of the most ruthless in all of gang movies... not hyper violent, which makes it even better. "ever train a dog?"

Miller's Crossing- just about perfect as a gangster movie...

I love these movies (Braindead is also the name in the UK for Dead Alive)
I also love the Company of Wolves, Full Ecipypse, Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers and numerous other werewolf films. (For anyone interested, a new table top game involving collectible figures has been released in the States [I'm waiting for it to be released over here] called HorrorClix, a game where you get to play your favourite horror movie monsters. This is them, http://www.iconusa4.com/online/HorrorClix_index.htm Sorry to Spam the thread.)

I love Bubba Hotep and Dead Alive.

Bruce Campbell came to a local bookstore years ago and I got his autobiography signed. Movie Madness carried some of his old stuff, when he and his friends were messing around, and some of it was hilarious.

    Twelve outrageous guests.
    Four scandalous requests.
    And one lone bellhop,
in his first day on the job,
who's in for the wildest New year's Eve of his life.

It's a documentary about the history of metal and the metal scene. Some wicked interviews and footage ( i.e. Lemmy).

They also cover the Norwiegan Black Metal scene. Fucking awesome!
