    Default Rapture: Art in Progress

This has been a great stress reliever for me currently..and it's a work in progress.

I know you can't tell currently, but it glow under blacklight and it's eyes flash when the lights are turned on.
I airbrushed it white, then added black down it's natural cracks. Minor touches like blacklight paint are added to specific areas such as horns and around eye sockets.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Likes? Dislikes?

    Skull before cleaning and airbrushing.

    Semi Far back shot.

i cant see the first picture but the other two look cool. i like the blend of technology and bare bones. you say its WIP, what else do you plan on doing to it so far? and where did you get the little biohazard badge? is it as pale as it appears in the second picture or is that just the lighting, as it looks a little darker in the third pic. i think it looks a little too bright white in the second picture, but iunno. also, it should be a ninja.

The flashing light would be cheesy.

    I'd lose the biohazard symbol.

I'd mold the skull into the panel and then biomechanically fuck with it.

can see the first pic now. i agree with Bikerpunk, biomech teh fux0r. i really like the biohaz, but it might not fit in. maybe having a stencilled looking poison yellow biohazard symbol actually sprayed on the board underneath the skull? could be difficult though, looks like the skull is already fimrly in place

The second pic is best colorwise. I think ill kill the lights though. Although it's a neat effect when it's dark in the room because skull shadows are casted throughout the walls at fast speeds.

I might think about the molding it into the canvas. Sounds fun. Ill look up plaster prices later.

mmcherry: Nope, didn't mold the skull..I found it in our forest we have. Don't know how it died, there was only the skull left!

so does this skull has a specific purpose?
or did you just make it for the sakes of relieving stress?

    I didn't make the skull..it's a real deer skull I found.
But the art's purpose (besides being a stress reliever) is to currently capture the thoughts and emotions that Im going through right now, which includes taking care of my mother who is slowly losing her mind, and the daily struggles of trying to deal with that.

The title Rapture, I decided to go with because of the modern day translation of the term it came from which is harpazo..which means "taken away", roughly.

Her mind is slowly being taken away, and the biohazard is to symbolize the medication she's on.

Its very cool. I like the skull, the biohazard and the hoses but dunno about the white on the background, seems to take away from the skull itself.

Although gotta say very very cool and much better than anything I could do =)
