    Default Introducing the HarLequiN

I'm new to this board and since it seems common sense I'd like to introduce myself.
I just call myself HarLequiN online for numerous reasons but mostly I just like the painting by BROM and the character it portraits.
I'm not that much into Gothic and Punk myself but I do love the style and the people that are into it. I've had some really great conversations with "Goths" (I don't like that expression but, well, everybody knows what's meant I think), far more than with other people so I have an affection towards this subculture.
I'm heavily into CGI and love to draw (although I don't find nearly enough time to do it - a problem that perhaps most people with such a hobby run into).
I studied the german language and Philosophy for nearly 5 years until recently when I called it quits and now I'm doing an education as a media-designer. Oh btw I live in Germany (the old Europe ;-) ).
I do love drawn art. I'm very much a visual person and adore the works of the new artists like BROM or Giger as well as some of the more classical folks like Dali or Hopper and of course the ones from the italian renaissance, most of all Leonardo Da Vinci. I read books of the likes of Stanislaw Lem and Phillip K. Dick and also James Ellroy. I LOVE Pringles and am far too addicted to that crap!!! I'm heavily into old american cars from the early 30s to the mid 70's. I have attention deficit disorder and somehow I start most of my sentences with 'I'. Other interests include Videogames and writing (stories). I'm bald, blue eyes and around 1.90 meters (don't know how many feet that is...) and am engaged to a half italian, half german-jewish woman who REALLY has a lot of temper and kicks my ass all the time (and I'm not even submissive!!).
Oh yeah, I have the problem that I can't stop writing when I start and so my mails and posts always become longer than they should...

So, okay, that's a start. I just want to be around a community with cool people who don't fall into any subculture-fascism cliché because I have experienced far too much of that in the past. Hello @ All and Cheers for a good time!

(Please keep in mind that my english comes from comic books and partly from school so don't wonder if anything I say doesn't make much sense... uh, well, perhaps I'm just drunk sometimes so it's either that or the language-barrier.)

That will either get you a good hug or into lots of trouble concerning the place you say this! My hometown isn't quite the place to order a "Kölsch" 'cause the 2 cities have some kind of dispute that goes back to the middle ages.

Anyway, don't ever say "Ich bin willig!" anywhere in Germany, no matter what any wiseguy tells you! This will get you into trouble for sure!!

@Velvet Tongue: No relation to Warhammer. It's HarLequiN from the Shadowrun RPG.

@Buster: P.K.Dick is quite simply stunning. So sad that he is no more!

hi harlequin, have you read any of the shadowrun books that harlequinn is in? pretty scary stuff. i know very little about the character's history in the game world but they do a good job of portraying him as somebody you dont want to cross or piss off.

    @Pull_my_hair: I love cheese!

@Headless Bill: It's actually 2 modules. HarLequiN & HarLequiNs back

@ Axa: I'm much nicer than he is! I've read almost all SR books, also the Earthdawn books that are pretty much impossible to get nowadays. I love this character so I thought I gotta be him... online. If you're interested in the characters background PM me.

@ Keiko: He's selling this painting for 3000?? I gotta save money!!!!!

@ Yes, die Deutschen übernehmen die Welt!! Juchei!!

Its a race then, Which ever one of us gets the $$ together first and hangs the painting over the mantle wins.

Sounds familiar! Except of the midget thing... I'm 6 foot and 2 1/2 inch
And... uh... the Stingray is still a Work IN Progress thing. Far too expensive now!
