And why? I like the Mercury here in Seattle, even If I have to BS them into letting me in everytime cuz I am not a member. Its dark, lots of brick, good drinks, (mostly) music I like. Peeple watching.....etc. Plus, there are not a lot of options...

The Underground! I'v been going there since I was a teenager. Cheap drinks, wicked music,free pool tables, and old friends (and some new ones). Plus it's dark and dingy and the ONLY place where all us freaky weirdos can go and not get hassled around here. Everyone knows eachother, it's like a family gathering every Friday.

Triple Rock owned by Dillinger 4. It's a premium p-rock club. Sadly, Minneapolis and "goth clubs" (they're phony here) = annoying phone calls from nappy chicks at 3AM and homophobic anti-makeup twits that should be put on ice. 3Rock is cool though. First Ave. Just got back fron Gogol Bordello at The Cabooze. Lot of good independent music and theater. Too many to name,

i miss the old zone, been closed down for a number of years now and is now a poshhotel, a far cry from the slumy irish bar, knocking shop and goth club it used to be.

if anyone has been, think Leyland City Club In detroit, but the floors twice as sticky and the coucheswithh miscelaneous stains that glow in the UV.

it was a dive, but was the perfect layout and played decent music, and was a real eye opener to the scene when i was a young impressionable 16 year old (just did the math now, fuck, 10 years ago, 8 years since it closed!)

I can't deny I'm jealous of Europe in terms of clubs and live music. If you're mobile, you have amazing events at your beck and call. I'm ok with my country culturally beyond that. It's no myth though. Europe claims in several genres. Even some great US bands end up signing and playing more in Europe.
