I never saw the bill and ted movies........every time I see him in a movie I do think of Neo though, a scanner darkly and constantine come to mind....it's that monotoneish sort of voice of his I think......sort of like that dances with wolves guy who plays Kevin Costner.
Keanu reeves as spike would ruin it for me. I'll boycott if hes in it.
I never could figure out how he was even considered for playing John Constantine

Who ever keeps casting him for these things needs to be tried for war crimes.

the only role that he seemed well-suited for were the bill and ted movies, imo. and he seemed to be at his most emotive in them.
I don't really share the hate for Keanu. Sure sometimes he over acts the part (I am an F! B! I! Agent!) but there are a lot worse actors out there who land a lot better roles. I worry more about the directors and writers these days. I think given a strong director, Keanu could pull of the role ok. No Ledger's Joker, but decent. But if they sign McG to direct, they could put every one of my favorite actors and use all the best casting choices and still make a movie that makes me be for Constantine 2 instead.
Constantine 2??............After that steaming pile of crap the first one was? (don't mind me...been a J.C. fan since he first showed up in swamp thing way back when)
Big fan of Hellblazer myself, but truth be told after Dangerous Habits Garth Ennis did worse things with the Constantine character than Keanu could have dreamed of.
I don't agree that different is particularly worse.................anyways, the character has always been recognizable as Constantine.......which keanu reeves is not

Actually that also misleads into thinking that he might act some other part, which of course relies on the assumption that he acts at all. Which he doesn't.
Maybe he could act like a guy in a coma. That would be a good role for him.
