Fellow Dorks, Come Meet and Party with Amelia G, Forrest Black, Scar 13, and More

The Blue Blood crew is gearing up for Comic Con 2005 and X-Sanguin IV. You'll be able to find a whole bunch of Blue Blood contributors and community members by stopping by Mega-Booth 433 sponsored by The Brotherhood.

Comic Con is the biggest comics convention in North America with panels and exhibits from all sorts of related creative areas. This includes film, television, a masquerade, and of course lots and lots of traditional comic book fun. This is where comic book artists go to sell their properties to Hollywood. This is where comic book fans go to shop til they drop.

The Brotherhood throws a yearly bash coinciding with the comics convention but in a different location. The shindig is called X-Sanguin and it is one vampire-themed ball you do not want to miss. Promoter Mario Ernesto says that the Brotherhood, the organization responsible for X-Sanguin, started when he and his friends were in their teens and liked to create haunted house events for their local neighborhood. He grins when he says that the name seemed like it just ruled when he was a teenager and they had no idea how long they were going to be doing events. "Now as adults," he says, "we are still putting on a haunted house of sorts, for ourselves and our friends, just on a bigger scale." Themes have ranged from vampires to pirates to vintage fashion.

Last year's X-Sanguin also featured Blue Blood Scar 13 in a slideshow presentation projected on the wall of the old church-style structure the party was in. Scar in the flesh showed up in an outfit which consisted primarily of liquid latex drizzled across her body and not much of it.

Blue Blood partnered with The Brotherhood to give Blue Blood Community board members a dozen passes to the kickass G. R. Ezekiel Nightshades Midnight Carnival, including some of the much-coveted sold-out VIP passes! Unfortunately I personally had to miss the twisted circus under the big top, due to a broken ankle. Here is what Scar had to say about this most recent Brotherhood production in San Diego:

"Well, I didn't want to tell you how fun the event was since you didn't get a chance to go, but since you asked . . . I would say of all the SD events I have been to in the past 9 months the Midnight Carnival definitely takes the cake for being the wildest and biggest. They had big tents set up with DJ's playing all your favorite club hits (gothic club hits of course) and the fronts of the tents were open facing an outdoor bar/shopping area. Vendors were selling jewelry, house decorations, and other odds and ends (I was too drunk and broke to pay much attention) and they had hot chickies carrying round test tube shots of Vodka Red Bull for $3. Costumes were required, and although a few people copped out and just dressed up extra gothic, most everyone went all out. There were a lot of evil clowns, wings, and fire performers around. Security was pretty lax, you could get away with being a little naughtier than you can at most night clubs, they also allowed fire performers to wander freely among the crowd, which is pretty unusual, and the bar did not close right at 2:00 since it was a private event. Only drawback : porta potties. Not normal one's though, giant trailers with like 4 toilets and sinks, too.

Here are some pics if you want to see my costume. I am sucking on a dildo in some pics from that night. There was a girl with a huge bag of dildos wandering around all night handing out dildos :-)"

I think there should be more parties where people wander around handing out dildos! The folks from the Brotherhood really know how to throw a party. I totally thought I didn't go out that often until I got all trapped with this big medical appliance on my leg while my ankle healed, so I am double-psyched up for this next event, now that I am all mobile again. The Brotherhood are outdoing themselves for X Sanguin 4 this year in the booze department, where last year they had all sort of cool stuff from their Bacardi sponsorship, this year they have even added a Grey Goose sponsorship. In addition to another Bacardi one. The VIP invitations for X Sanguin IV this year are also even more over-the-top, which one might not have thought wholly possible. In addition to the obligatory temporary tattoos one must place on skin in order to enter, this year's VIP invites come in an ornate metal tube with enclosed silk scroll, suitable for royalty.

Blue Blood is all about counterculture royalty, so we are revved up to go! Stop by ComicCon Mega-Booth 433, sponsored by The Brotherhood, and say "hi!"
