Default Do you like rude T-shirts?

I admit that I have a soft spot for incredibly rude designs on clothing. Something that wouldn't even be funny in a sentence becomes hilarious to me on a T-shirt worn in public. I like it if it is subtle, like my Big Sausage Pizza swag where someone might have to know the site or know that I got it as a special gift from the company which produces it. (Bonus web pro points to anyone who knows who the corporate parent is there.) I also like it if it is as subtle as the word FUCK printed in almost any combination or permutation. When I lived in DC, I knew a guy named Cliff Judge who wrote on his leather jacket, "Your mother sucks cock good with a gun to her head" and I thought that was hilarious. (He later removed it, I think, because his mom was troubled by it.)

I tend to control my urge for appalling apparel these days, partly because it is hard to fight the oppressor in Los Angeles in that fashion. Ya just don't get treated wrong in LA for walking in some place ritzy wearing black. So it seems like a rude shirt might be actually rude, as opposed to humorously rude.

What do you think? Do you like rude T-shirts?

Looks at his "Bored, ready to be stroked" motorcycle shirt...

Looks at his Dickens' Cider T-shirt "There's nothing better than a hot Dickens' Cider"

Why Amelia! Whatever do you mean

I used to like them much more than I do these days, but as you mentioned, it might just be environmental. I did always have slightly more subtle taste in that area though, like black printing on a black t-shirt that said Fuck You. Not everybody would catch it. These days I tend to think that green and black hair and a $250 fitted black pinstripe button-down with nice leather shoes says Fuck You so much more effectively. Although this shitty economy is making me appreciate the old school more and more.

The economy isn't shitty - it grew by 0.9%.

Well, of course, that's taking every other industry, which is going downhill, adding it to oil, which is skyrocketing, and dividing by the number of industries.

    That's a little wordy for a t-shirt though.

    Virgins: Thanks for Nothing!
Is that a keg in your pants? Because I wanna tap that ass!
Speak to my representative. (Down arrow pointing at crotch)
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Got Head? (Logo for local brewery on back)

Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I have a ton more.

I like rude t-shirts, except they are no fun to wear over here, so few people would get it. But I still would want to get a "Mary was only a virgin if you don't count anal" t-shirt.

I would love to wear it when the Japanese Christians ring my door bell on a sunday morning and I gotta go to the door thinking it might be the delivery guy. Actually I gotta translate it into Japanese for when they come a'knockin.

Ha! When I was in grade 8 I used to have a tight little black t-shirt that said Routes 69 and it had a picture (not a really detailed one or anything) of a couple assuming the position. My mother threw that shirt in the garbage so many times, and every time I fished it out. There was many an argument over that shirt. I wish I still had it today.

I just recently made a shirt with those little iron on glittery sticky letters that reads GET FUCKED.
    It's my new favourite.
And I found a patch that is supposed to look like the Ford symbol but it says FUCK. That's such a great word eh? fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

I have several "rude" t-shirts. There is the "Nazi Goths Fuck Off" one, there's the TrainSpotting "Choose Life" one, there's the "Death Aid: Kill The World" one (I got into trouble at work with that one), there's the "Government Hooligan" one (considering I'm a Civil Servant, that is funny) but unfortunately I missed out on the Anti-CyberGoth one from a UK club which reads "You can take your Glowstick and You can shove it up your Arse!", though the club I go to has their own t-shirt using the name that the local Cybers call Trad Goths, which is "Sad Fang-Wearing, Coffin-Dwelling Fucks".

I was just noticing this bizare new trend in comedy: it's unironic irony, because it's just stating the obvious.

The simpsons called this ten years ago when they had a comedian who had a joke that consisted entirely of "Don't you hate it when men leave the toilet seat up?" and the audience laughs and Homer responds "it's funny because it's true."

I find that better than some trends in comedy, namely

    1) 80s "Comic Strip" comedians who do nothing except SHOUT ALL THE TIME I am LOOKING AT YOU, MAYALL.

    2) Comedians who instead of being funny just talk about is my ass fat? Really I AM LOOKING AT YOU, GAREOFALO.

    3) Someone who starts out funny and then SIMPLY RANTS ON AND ON ABOUT HOW WE HAVE TO ACCEPT GAY PEOPLE AND GAY RIGHTS NOW and THE REPUBLICANS ARE JUST EVIL and I AM LOOKING AT YOU, MARGARET CHO.

Forrest Black has one of the old ChemLab Fuck Art, Let's Kill shirts. Best band T-shirts ever. Which reminds me actually that I have some shots of ChemLab from their most recent tour which I should really find and post.

I don't like anything openly offensive. I mean, my naked devil girl lollipop tee is one of my faves.... seriously, who doesn't like naked chicks? I like stuff like that. It has to be cute and rude for me; not just plain rude. I like getting good service when I go places.

I dunno I wear less, and less stuff like that these days, but I've had the urge lately.

New York Fuckin' City is a fave.

as is Welcome to New York City Duck Mother Fucker.

I had a great one that wasn't so easy to read it had a graphic, with the stylized word fucker.com on it. I got it for like $5 in a bargain bin.

I'm feeling jaded, and bitter tonight something snappy about abortion might cheer me up... "Abortion It's What's For Dinner" something like that...

    ah well...

    DO I EVER!

I have a ton of funny/offensive t-shirts... my favourites are "Fuck the Preps, they should die" and has a picture of the ralph lauren polo dude with a score through it, and my "Damn you, Charlie Brown!" that has an image of a pregnant Lucy shaking her fist. I have a Hypocrisy long-sleeve that says "I'm a Fucking Hypocrite" on the back in huge block letters.

I actually wore the "Fuck the Preps" t-shirt to school one day, and got away with it because I'm me. Not that I'm trying to sound self-important, but thats what my teachers told me :P

I used to have a belt buckl that had a slot marked 5 Cents, then beneath it said

Funny. I just shot a bunch of t-shirt photos for a website. Nothing really rude. I'm tempted to post some of them, though.

Heh, just rummaged through my drawers.

Then when I was done I looked at my clothes and found my other gems:

"Don't assume I'm not into cheap, meaningless sex."

    and

"Of course I love you! Why else would I have an erection?"

Love that second one especially! I have one which reads, "I fucked your girlfriend" which is not necessarily awesome on its own, but achieves new heights of rude when worn by the fairer sex.

I think they can occasionally be funny but I don't make a practice of wearing anything that would reduce my chances of successfully flirting and rude t-shirts scream "junior high mentality" to the opposite sex.

IN OTHER NEWS: my newsest shirts say "The funny thing about this shirt is that by the you realise it dosent say any thing its too late to stop reading it you dumb ass."
And I got my "Dont cry emo kid" shirt 3 months to find one that fits me.

I got my (male) ex a shirt that said, "Wish you were here" with an arrow pointing down. He told me he got some dirty looks from women at Walgreen's and Trader Joe's. Granted, he also meows in public.
