I don't mind when they are good at it, but the nonsense bots with a random link to some product I couldn't use if I wanted to . . . those are just such a waste.

The real question is, do they actually make enough money to justify their use by the spammers?

I once saw a news item about a self proclaimed 'kind of the spammers' who lived in a trailer somewhere (florida? I think) who had like 6 desk tops devoted to spamming. He was totally unrepentant, saying that he made so much money doing it, and that it was so easy that he'd never stop.

meh.

john mccain loves spammers, if elected he'll enact laws to unleash a tidal wave of spam that will make all useful communication on the planet earth impossible. (I read this on a blog somewhere.)
