Do you ever wait too long for food or coffee?

I woke up during night, watched the Presidential address and G's to Gents on TiVo, overslept slightly today and so started work today w/o coffee or breakfast. Feeling totally stabby and sad. I think I'm going to go make an iced latte now, although I worked through when I should have gone to the grocery store yesterday, so I'm lacking in the soy milk dept.

Do you ever wait too long for food or coffee? How does it make you feel?

that is my problem. i just must never have had food and coffee on time.

If I don't get caffeinated within 20 minutes of waking, esp when I have to wake to an alarm, I'm very short with people and usually speak in grunts. I have very little patience for anyone in the morning anyway. Without coffee and/or foods people get the eye. If they push it, I get stabby. *nods* I totally know what you mean. any time before 11 is ungodly anyway, so as a godling I refuse to be awake before then.

In everyday life I tend not to wait for stuff much. I just go get it when I feel like it.

Sometimes on the second night of a party weekend though, we'll realise we haven't eaten in ages and that nothing we have in the house seems edible in our current state, but that no stores will be open to provide us with fruit and yoghurt drinks for hours to come. Makes me feel light-headed and occasionally fall over.


Not getting my caffeine can make me grumpy on the comedown, but I carry tablets for emergencies.

Yeah, I've gone multiple days without eating, usually because I'm too busy to think about it. By eating I mean having a real meal or anything other than a candy bar and energy drink. There's also times when I woke up a little late out here, missed lunch (I start my shift a 2 in the afternoon and lunch closes at 2:30, so I usually get up earlier to get there before work) and was so busy trying to fix something I miss dinner and have to wait until midnight to go grab food. I do tend to miss a meal or two about once a week or so.

I do, especially when I'm traveling, and it makes me feel very lacking in the energy department, and somewhat short with people. If I let it go way too long I start to feel pessimistic about everything and mopey. (That's mainly with food-if I miss my caffeine I just get an awful, awful headache and am then useless till it goes away.)

but I do forget to eat, and drink water, missing the eating's no biggie, but forgetting fluids isn't good

or clean my desk off.....think i've got like six empty beer bottles, a taco bell cup an empty can of top tobacco and about five soda cans just staring at me.....i needs to clean this place up a bit lol

Coffee has no real effect on me one way or another. When I'm really exhausted, its a psychological blanket kind of thing, where I cling to my cup and growl at anyone that get's close.

Tacos however... Mmmm... Tacos.

On a slightly different note, there is cafe/restaurant my friends and I go to all the time and the service is horribly slow. I think because the place is run by hippies and it kinda seems like no one really gives a shit. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the beer is cheap but it seems we're always waiting too long.

Yeah, mostly when I'm traveling. Sometimes, it can be hard to find the time for regular meals, when I'm jumping from one shoot to the next. It can definitely make it harder to perform my best. If I get too hungry, I even start to get nauseous.

I never eat breakfast, rarely eat lunch, but I almost always eat dinner.

As for coffee, I cant stand it. Just the smell give me a headache and no matter how much suger I put in it it makes me gag. I do drink energy drinks though so It cant be the caffeine in it.

I thought this was going to be about waiting too long in restaurants, which my answer for that is hell no; I get up and walk out.
in answer to your question, caffiene is rather irrelevent to me since I only drink coffee when I go to my hairdresser to get my hair done, and I have her water it down, since my body is so sensitive to it now. I love green tea, but there is so little caffiene in it, it doesn't count, and I do just fine with out it, but I drink it everyday for health benefits.....
as for food, my answer is no, not for the most part.... I'm a mean bastard if I wait too long to eat; a really mean bastard.

I do wait too long most days. I get up, turn on my computer, and sit there naked working on all sorts of media relations for hours...at some point I look up and say, "Shit, I am hungry, dehydrated, and need to stretch my legs." This is usually 5-6 hours into the day. A habit I am trying to break. It makes me feel horrible, but at the same time, I get so much accomplished in that detached state of being.

I guess you could call it an ed, but if I wait too long to eat, my stomach gets severely upset to the point where if I eat anything, it makes me sicker...
