I think I read somewhere that a telltale sign of 'gothness' is denying their gothness to their dying breath..?
Might've been on this forum?
I dunno it struck me as clever lol.

We had a meeting of the chairpeople of the local factions of my party. It was agreed that I should be a candidate on their main lists for Town and County positions and then I was promptly voted as a Delegate for the Landkreis meeting (the next level up) with a hint that they'd push me through from Landkreis to Land (Lower Saxony) with the wish that the Land promote me to Delegate to the Bundesparteitag in Karlsruhe (that is Germany-wide). All the positions as Delegate would start this year but the elections are next year...Originally Posted by MistressJennifer

It's a close second. How about being invited to Berlin to meet the Chancellor (all expenses paid) and turning him down because you'd been invited to dinner elsewhere?Originally Posted by OneEyedCat
Nothing even close to that .... yet. I am just beginning to aim for the stars. Why did you turn him down? Schroeder? How do you feel about Schroeder btw? I'm beginning to seriously question the free reign being given Putin by Schroeder and US President Bush.Originally Posted by Nightingale

I turned the invitation down because I had an annual meeting in Thuringen of a children's charity I am on the board of, and that was considerably more important to me than a Chancellor.Originally Posted by OneEyedCat
I have few problems with Schröder as Chancellor on the national level - he'll effectively be my boss if I am elected next year. I don't mix with international politics too much, but agree that the freehand given the Russian government is a little bit too free, although I am not one for interferring in the sovereign decisions of other nations - providing they are not doing that to others. I place it on a secondary level to the freehand given China by Bush, but that doesn't make it any less of a matter to be given more thought.

Agree. My main issue with Putin is his meddling in the countries surrounding Russia. Russia and China have been increasing military ties of late. In what specific areas do you have concern in reference to Bush and his China policy? Personally, I think we've been playing their tune for a good 16 years.Originally Posted by Nightingale

why are you concerned about it? Aren't Russia reducing their nuclear weapons and isn't it natural that they should want a piece of the opening market in a neighbouring country? I guess I don't know much about it.Originally Posted by OneEyedCat

Russia is openly meddling in elections in the surrounding countries. They have also helped to foment secessionist movements in Georgia, Moldova, and Armenia. Russia is actually building a nuke that can penetrate any missile defense system. They don't want a piece of opening markets, they want their empire back.Originally Posted by 23*

I wear in black enough to be a goth. Nevertheless, I don't wear dog collars and other parafernalia looking like a fancy goth and about this reason I could forget to flirt at the gothic clubs. For the other hand, my soul is too much goth as I wanted to admit. I enjoy the music.
Here is a test about how goth I am:
<table align="center" width="250"><tr><td align="center"><div style="font-size:18px;font-family:Verdana"><b>I AM 58% GOTH!</b></div><a href="http://www.fuali.com/test.aspx?id=104"><img src="http://www.fuali.com/pix/104/3.gif" alt="58% GOTH" border="0"></a><div style="font-size:10px;font-family:Verdana">Oh My Goth! You Goth, Girl. There is a good chance I am bi. Freakiness pumps through my viens, but I can still laugh at myself.</div><div style="font-size:12px;font-family:Verdana"><a href="http://www.fuali.com/test.aspx?id=104">Take the GOTH test at Fuali.com</a></div></td></tr></table>

I did a test in a boredom afternoon that said I am I AM 58% GOTH!.
I got 60% on that test. Some of the questions were silly.Originally Posted by electricgoblin

The test is very stupid by itself, I did it one day I was very very bored but I couldn't quatify how goth am I even with the test.
There are more test that said what kind of goth you are or what kind of rocker, punk,...
I think my problem with the US / China relationship is that it revolves purely around money. The forced entry into the WTO despite the massive Human Rights problems which the US uses to keep others out of various institutions sticks in my throat.Originally Posted by OneEyedCat
I definitely agree with you there. There was opposition to China joining the WTO and other free trade agreements here, but it was limited to the far "right" and "left". The action is in the middle.Originally Posted by Nightingale

I think that Johnny is Goth in the inspirational point of view. While he himself may not be, he has influenced modern gothic fantasy very much.Originally Posted by MistressJennifer
In terms of Gothic origin, I think that it depends on point of view. Through history there have been subcultures obsessed with death, mourning, and the darker side of life. Everything from the aesthetic following the plague, to the Gothic Horror writers of the 1800s, to the Victorian obsessions with fetish, even up to the Expressionist movement could be considered with the modern eye to be the Historical roots of modern Goth.
As for me, I'm simply a Gothic Queen wannabe. Someday, when I'm rich and famous, I will own a beautiful silk and velvet wardrobe, live in an amazing Victorian house with flocked wall paper, and drink the blood of virgins to stave off aging. Until then, I'm just a girl with bad attitude and thrift store clothing.
I just dig the shows, plus I do have a weakness for pale girls in leather with eye makeup.
the people that wear corpse paint are tools
Hahahahahahahah.
I'm not gothic. I'm a geek. But I have several things in common with most "goths"! I'm see-through pale!
i dont see my self as goth, because "goth" or "gothic" i see as the old days of england, jack the ripper days... however i enjoy horror, mass murder, fetishes, and i dress in alot of black and i have dred locks and wear eyeliner :-/ so i gues in few peoples eyes im goth ??? i have been called goth before tho... but ive also been called a wigger once too so i donno im myself i dont follow any tred or follow any one... i actully dont see to many people any how....

ok- so what is goth music?- alien sex fiend? black tape for a blue girl? rasputina? techno? industrial?Originally Posted by Ichigo
Im fairly certain I wouldn't be considered goth- but I love fetish fashion, and can't get enough of goth chics!!! My musical tastes are pretty varied- but the majority of my wardrobe is black-
