it takes like two years of complete truthfulness...my bf lied to me and did some really shitty things 3 and a half months ago, and he knows that I dont trust him and wont trust him for a very long time, I warned him two years ago when we met that lying to me is a really bad idea. Ive been lied to too many times. I don't forgive easily.

If I were to give that person another chance, I would be very skeptical on what they had to say. I would definitely look into what they were saying and find out if there is any truth to it, instead of just believeing them off the cuff.

I just try to keep my life so that it doesn't really matter if someone lies or not , well somewthing like that anyway

that depends on what they are lying about, why they lied about it etc. i mean if i was something big then i might have problems trusting them unless they had a really really good reason to lie about it (yes i believe that sometimes there are really good reasons to lie to people) if it was some small lie about something minor i wouldnt really care all that much but then again im pretty good about telling when someone is lying anyways

I totally understand why people do not want to mention things they have done.

But once you tell them you know they did it, do they keep lying?

It's one thing to not tell you something, and it's much worse if
they think they can keep lying to you, when you call them on it.
And if they admit to the lie right away, then I will still want to
see that they start to tell me the truth about things like that
in the future.

Here's an example:

Let's say a friend of yours starts hanging around with another friend of yours.
And let's say that one of them is not happy with you.
So that person starts talking shit to the other person.
Then that person, who is also your friend, tells you that
the other person was talking shit about you behind your back.
If I confront that friend about it, and they say:
"Yeah, I was really pissed off about you, and I needed to vent to someone..."
Then I will respect them a lot more, than if they say,
"What are you talking about? I never said anything to anyone!"

maybe im far too laid back but it doesnt really bother me, i will still believe people to an extent, but it really depends on what was lied about :\

and tbh, no one really has a reason to lie to me, as i rarely give a shit about anything. cheating is the one thing i take seriously when it comes to lying.

this for example, if someone did say shit behind my back, i really couldnt care less :P if anything they are prooving themselves to be an ass to others who witness it more than anything else.

I've always tried to give people the benefit of the doubt. But lately I've been playin the fool way too much. Startin not to believe ne one even if they havent lied to me.

generally it depends on the extent of the lie in the first place with me. If they lied blatantly about something quite serious, then I'd be wary to trust them in future, regardless of the topic. But if it was a white lie to begin with, then I'd probably keep my trust for them.

If they lied to my face about something I knew to be true, I would have a very hard time trusting them again. If they lied by omission, its usually worse. Lies by omission means, they knew they were lying, but tried to dance around it so that its not really lying, but not telling the truth either. I think that would make it very hard to believe anything they said until they earned your trust back. I don't even know how they could do that sometimes.

Well most people in the club scene lie about just about everything, so if I got rid of them all, then I would be stuck with boring yuppies in khaki pants who told the truth and had "meaningfull relationships" which would mean baby carriages and Seinfeld reruns.

And it is a fine line, sometimes people just change their mind. Sometimes they say one thing, then they say the opposite thing. Sometimes they play games. Sometimes they lie a LITTLE bit to be charming or not hurt your feelings....

But I basically don't really care if they lie or not, I am here in life for the theatrical value of things, not to judge it like a courtroom...

Oh and if they are pretty or handsome I don't care what they do. I am especially a total pushover for a handsome boy/man... girls too... I like beauty, I will always make exceptions for them...
