    Default Question.

So I found this guy on Craigslist.org looking for a "rockabilly" guitar, and I said I have something that might suit his fancy, so after several emails, this guy would like to come and check out the guitar in person. Me being just about 16...I'm wondering if I should send this guy my address or not. I mean I know my parental unit would be home... but still. Heh.

Doesn't the dude have a practice space or some place like that you could meet up at?

I never asked. I could tell him to meet me someplace public. Would that be a better idea, than having him come to my house?

It is not the public thing but the personal info thing. You probably want to meet some place you can play but I wouldn't have some dude from the want ads come to my home without getting to know him first. Maybe if he were a really hot chick.

I don't even like my mailman knowing my address.
Personally I think you could be opening a big can of trouble handing out that kind of info.

If you are having reservations about meeting the guy.. that means you are intelligent.. and that you have some common sense... You are better that 95% of your generation.. Don't lose that

I am not being a smart ass... I am seriously applauding you

A lot! Check out some websites selling vintage guitars, just to make sure someone isnt ripping you off, or that you arent pricing yourself out of the market. And about the guy wanting to come se your guitar, definitely arrange to meet him somewhere public, or even suggest he rent a practise room ( you can get them for about $15 an hour). If he is serious about buying the guitar, he wont have a problem with that, and it also gets rid of a lot of problems i.e. him knowing your adress etc. Still, I'd take a tough looking friend or a parent. Its maybe just me, but I would be gutted if I was mugged for a guitar, as even a piece of shit guitar is probably worth $100. Don't mean to frighten you or anything, but its better to be safe than a statistic!

if I were trying to buy something from a nervous 16 yearold off the internet, I'd ask them to have their parents meet me to take care of it.

no misunderstandings, least amount of hassel... meeting you doesn't even have to be an issue...
