    Default Plastic surgery?

Ok...we were having this discussion. How much is too much???

    Larry king featured this chic...

    http://www.thejennylee.com/

I'm all for it...but there is a limit and TOO FAR. I mean, it's her body and she can do what she wants....so whatever. But she looks really plastic to me....

Ok guys...we went through this with tattoos...HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH????

(thinks of Michael Jackson as an example)

Each person has there own limits as to when it is too much. Plastic surgery can accentuate a person's physical beauty, and even help their self esteem. I think it's too much when it almost becomes an "addiction", always getting some proceedure performed in their search for personal perfection. Sometimes even having the same proceedure performed multiple times.

Yes the pictures of jenny lee make her look like she's made of plastic, but definitely michael jackson has shown us what it's like to not just cross the line of too much, he absolutely buried it.

I don't have a problem with people wanting to look younger, but just about anytime someone starts messing with their features in a "maybe now a little bit off the nose" sort of way, it's a walk down the primrose path.

I say people can do what they want with their bodies. The effect it has on their life is inturn thiers to deal with, good or bad it comes along with the choice THEY made. If Jenny Lee wants to turn herself into the creature that now haunts my nightmares that is her decision to make. *turns on nightlight and checks under the bed*

Yuck! That's just way too far. I'm not a huge fan of plastic surgery, because for some people, it's as addictive as getting tattoos and/or piercings (and I'm sure a lot of people here can relate to that).

She looks terrible... what on earth ever happened to natural beauty? I don't mind a little bit, and if it's for reconstructive purposes then I'm definitely for it.
There's a limit to everything. She could have looked good before it got out of hand.

    too much=surgical addiction...

just enough=fix whatever the heck it is they did to her!!!!

    are there any before pics?

I once knew a woman who was a playboy centerfold from the 80's she'd obviously had alot of 'work' done. I didn't know her before, and thought she was beautiful (and crazy), when I finally saw some of her old pictures I was like "No way, these don't even look remotely similar" I actually thought she looked better now... but that's how I met her.

as a friend of mine used to say "women with improbable archietecture."

The woman in England who plastic surgeried herself into a living barbie doll is actually quite attractive compared to poor jenny. I am all for Plastic surgery and it's up to people on what they want to do with their bodies...but I think she has BDD. There are some before pics on her Oprah (links). She was pretty.....

yeah, that's right, I remember seeing her on Oprah and Mum and I were both like "oh my dear God..." she just looks shocking.
And I agree with Sunkarma, the living Barbie doll from England is quite attractive. You can tell she's had some serious work done, but it looks good.

my little sister, my girlfriend and I were watching it one day when nothing else was on. I saw that lady, and said "She looked better before all that plastic surgery" People just seem to overdo it some times.

Yeah, Amanda Lepore is freaky as all hell... yuck. There are much more convincing transexuals out there who look much better than her, too!!
And what about Jocelyn Wildenstein... they don't nickname her the 'cat woman' for no reason....

Apparently she has permanently lost peripheral vision in one eye because of the amount of work done to her eyelids and around them. Just awful.

While I would consider plastic surgery (my nose is annoyingly bulbous), that's... um.

Amanda does fashion shows...I saw her strutting down the runway on one of them. I think it was Betsey Johnson. You know, when you put them all together side by side, they look like they could be sisters....

Yeah, I saw a photo of Amanda in a tabloid mag a while back where she was wearing an outfit made of fake roses... well they didn't cover up her nasty bits too well and there was a little too much skin seen from the side... *shudders*

Oh I know, plastic surgery is just so terrible! I would never, ever ever have any kind of plastic surgery on my face or body. I like to wander naked through fields of daisies and think natural thoughts about being a natural woman....

I think "body maintenance" is OK. If I ever shattered a bone in my face, I would get it reconstructed. If I ever had a kid and had shrunken raisen boobies afterwards I might get them filled in with some implants. Things like that I am not opposed to. And as far as other people go, they can do what they want as long as it makes them happy. But I have always thought that the more plastic surgery a person gets or the more time they spend each morning applying make-up, the more self concious they make themselves. It forces them to pay constant attention to their appearance.

she looks like being cut directly out of wood... not like made of human flesh... horrible vision..
    can't get such people.. why?

well, as for me plastic surgery is ok for people survived fires or car crashes... when their face or body is all damaged and no longer has their normal look...
but doing surgery just to keep yourself busy - it's pointless..

I think it does make you self conscious. You get one thing done and then you are like...is my butt too big or my nose too sharp or whatever..then you think about getting that done. I think that it is ALMOST as addictive as tattoos...but just a hell of alot more expensive...so not an easy habit to keep up...unless you are married to a plastic surgeon...then everything is free (thinking of K's Choice song... "Everything for free")

I've seen too many episodes of "Nip/Tuck" to have kept the whole "whatever you want to do to yourself, go for it." ideal. A lot of these people are beyond fucked up internally, that's before they fuck up the external.

I also know from experience. There are a group of three regular customers at the place I work. The "before" picture would be three BIG (The shortest one is 5'11'') black guys who have had so many botched surgeries that they now look like 3 BIG black chick who spend the majority of their free time french kissing weed-whackers. And they're so self concious that they're ALWAYS hostile and bitter, percieving insults where there are none and being combative about it.

like Scar said, reconstruction and stuff like that, that's fine. I'm not opposed to a little 'maintenance'. But when it goes too far like these 'ladies' we're seeing pics of in here, then that's just way too far. And yes... I think it does make you more self conscious the more you get done. It can become crazy, as we've seen.
