So I bought a Utilikilt last night and it should be here by the end of the week.

Any other guys on the board have one?

is this like a generic everyday guy's kilt.... for those of us who dont have irish / scotish / celtic heritage to justify wearing one?

sounds pretty gay.... you wear a skirt or somethin dude.. .... .... oh wait, nevermind, lol

seriously though, i'd bet they are pretty comfy...the survival ultikilt looks cool. i just dont know if i would wear it because of the lack of support and protection. I mean your knees are bear, and if you are really going to wear one to do manual labor, i want something between the work and my crotch... even if it's some denim. ya know?

maybe i'll just buy one so i can pose in front of a bridge...like this dude from the website.

Well I have enough Scottish and Irish in me to justify one of my tatoos being in Gaelic, so what does that tell you? But no, it's not a tartan kilt. The one I bought is just black.

And if you're doing manual labor and stradling the work, I think you're doing it wrong....

Guys in Kilts are hot. Guys in their mom's dresses, that's kinda gay. esp if they borrowed her matching purple lip gloss to go with it.

No..I'm not Irish,Scotish,Gaelic or otherwise . But I do own and wear a few skirts/kilts. Why? Because they are super comfy and breezy, sometimes I even go commando. Plus.. they go good with my boots.

And trust me..if you ever saw me you wouldn't say anything (outloud at least)

I don't have a kilt, but I do have a full length "one legged pant". Its made by Tripp, and it has of course, chains, and other metal things. LIke metal D-Rings.

Eh, whenever I wear a skirt (and I do so often), I usually wear it to look more feminine, so it's automatically a girly thing in my mind. Still skirts are extremely comfortable and very easy to wear, though even if I was a burly guy in a kilt I don't think I'd be able to resist the urge to swish around and dance in it.

Really? With the standard pleats number and all? Because i've only seen them hovering around a grand.

Of course that's with the dirk and the fur pouch etc.

A 5 yard kilt is about 250, the sporran(pouch) is usually a bit extra, (75) but this is where I will get one made for Me http://www.scotwebstore.com/landing/kilts

Ya know, I used to play the bagpipes with a local Hibernian band... along with my dad and my little brother. I was young at the time (about 11), so when we marched in all the St. Paddy's Day parades, I was the banner carrier. And of course, we all wore kilts. One St. Paddy's Day at the NYC parade, it was quite windy... and right as we got up to the bandstands and the cameras, a nice gust of wind blew and WHUP! up when my kilt. On live TV. Which they were watching at school. I never lived it down.

That, and the memory of both my father and brother wearing kilts... as well as the fact that my father is now the Hibernian PRESIDENT in our division, so I see him in a kilt ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME... REGIMENTAL, NO LESS (i.e. no underwear)... has kinda turned me off to guys in skirts. But hey, if you have the balls... MORE POWER TO YA!
