do you find this world beautiful?

I find that alot of people really despise this earth. they say life is too unfair, it's too ugly, it's too rough, or for whatever reason. some even go as far to say that this is hell on earth. well i think one of humanity's biggest downfalls is the fact we do not embrace this world as it should be, instead we focus on the corrupt, the distorted, the hideous sides of it.

my question to you is do you find this world beautiful and if so, what is something about it you find beautiful?

Speaking of the "world" itself and it's beauty..all I need to do is head to my northern property and everything is ok. It's as beautiful as a woodland can be, with plenty of flora and fauna to please the senses.

When the city gets to me, as it oftens does, I think of all of the out of the way places still relativley untouched by us dirty humans. And dream of the day when I can climb up the side of a gigantic mountain in some remote country where the popualtion can be counted on one hand.

The Amazon rainforest (what's left of it)

The massive thousand year old pine trees in B.C.
The first tulip bud peeking through the almost melted snow....

The earth is beautiful. Pristine nature and animals are life in its purest form. I do not believe we can live without the darkness and brutality. They, too, are beautiful as shadows to innocence and purile existence. You have to accept both.

Animals and plants are really cool.
Some humans are cool.
Some human art is cool.
Sex, drugs, rock and roll... cool.
Sure, there are some ugly and nasty people in this world.
And yes, we have fucked up a lot of nature.
But there is still a lot of untouched nature.
People congregate in cities, but if you head out
into the middle of nowhere, there is not much human contact.
It's just nature doing it's thing.

It's hard to remember that if you live in the city.

Sometimes. I'm a city kid. I can live in a natural environment and find the beauty therein, but after a while it all ends up looking somewhat monotonous to me. The disarray, the decadence, the artistic rot inherent to a city, though, can stike me stronger than anything.

I have walked down rusted railroad tracks, between concrete slabs that were once a building. Twisted iron bars shook their oxidizing dreadlocks to the sky, and every chip of stone and shattered asphalt was pitted by rain and overgrown by hungry weeds. Even the empty earth was beautiful, for the thousands of disparate minerals and poisons that hid piled under each other...

yeah it's seems to be the european tradition in thinking that nature is over here or over there and outside of what we build, that it's not everywhere. which isn't true. it's pretty shitty that people have turned against each other so much that they need to feel like they have to have something that gives them value, and they can't see that they allready have everything of value that they could possibly want.

it's kind of like when you see a tree growing out of a rock at a 90 degree angle on some mountain somewhere. it makes you realize that the earth is going top do it's thing no matter what we do. it seems kind of silly to me to cover the whole world in concrete and drive around going 75 miles an hour. why are people in such a hurry to get somewhere? all they are going to find is the same things that they are running away from. maybe they should sit down and think about what it is that they really want.
