I just got two boxes of stauffer's lasgna, and I am going to eat both of them. It was either that or french bread pizza.

oh man... frozen food's the worst...

... at the begining of the week i cook up a large pot of something or other (usually curry LOL) and then supplement that with quick things like fresh salads, or a baked yam or something...

curried rice is super easy, you just boil up a pot of rice, with the curry powder, and tumeric in the water, a few cloves of garlic, and some ginger, and then when it's done boiling, allthe water's boiled off, i toss some frozen veggies on top, and let them steam, then add some sesame oil, and some rice wine vinegar, and stir it all up, and enjoy it...

LOL, or some rice noodles, with some quick premade veggie broth... and some sliced veggies, and seasonings (sesame oil, and vinegar again)

seriously i gained like 40lbs, eating nothing but frozen mircoslave food, and carry out... ugh!!!

realitvely healthy food doesn't have to take a super long time to make... i make either a pot of soup or curry once a week, freeze some for later...

i know it's a pain in the ass when you're working hard though...

I ate them both. they were fantastic. I'm not worried about gaining weight. and sometimes I just don't even have time to monitor a pot. however I do have a timer and an oven.

Forrest is a fan of their lasagna too. I'm doing the low carb thing at the moment myself, so that wouldn't really work for me. That lasagna is way yummier than french bread pizza and probably has better nutrition too.

Now I really want something curried. Maybe I will make curry chicken and some form of veggies tomorrow.

Personally, I like Amy's frozen foods especially the burritos with bean & cheese. Marie Callender's is pretty good too. If I have time and am in the mood I'd much rather have fresh food versus convenience, it just depends what's going on for the day. I like grilling quite a bit. Stouffer's lasagna is pretty good, they sell it as their lasagna base at a pizza place around here. I was going to order lasagna and the employee said "This is just Stouffers and we just added some of our own sauce and more cheese." Well, at least he was honest. Pepperidge Farm used to have their version of French bread pizza, it was excellent.

don't get me wrong here. I would much rather eat fresh food and I am a great cook, but when I am busy around the house, I seriously don't have time to do all the prep, or even stand there and watch the pot, because I have to get things done. setting my oven and a timer takes all of three minutes...... I figure I can get away with it every now and again when I'm either too tired or busy, as long as I take my vitamins.

    eh.

i just have a grudge because i made myself seriously ill with a a diet of carry out food, and frozen microslave junk. so don't mind me.

don't count out asian noodles though. it only takes a minute to boil up the water- you can use a teapot with a whistle. and it only takes a few seconds to dice up some green onion, and ginger... some other veggies.

...i would go to the asian groceries and try a different type of ramen every time. i'd get the ones that were edible the next time, and try a new one too. 'kitsune udon' was a favorite. noodles with freeze dried fried seasoned tofu, and seaweed...mmmmm.

I'm allergic to tomatos... so I tend to have to make my own pizza at the house, with the exception of the occasional Papa John's release of the chicken, spinach and mushroom pizza with the alfredo (white sauce)... But recently, a couple of brands have made alfredo (white sauce) or garlic/butter sauce... My favorite frozen option is...Freshcetta's Brick Oven Portabella Mushroom and Spinach Pizza... All I do is add in some red pepper... And if I have it laying around, some chicken and extra mozzarella cheese or ricotta cheese...

But then again, I'm weird and I like weird foods...

Hahaha... of course that doesn't sound weird
to you... Ms. strawberries in ranch dressing.

But none of that is weird anyhow, Papa John's
is great and so is Pagliacci's (Seattle) Chicken
Primo: Chicken marinated in a balsamic vinaigrette,
artichoke hearts, red onion, imported peppers,
mozzarella, ricotta and parsley on an olive oil sauce.

VoltaireBlue, do you have a crockpot? Banquet's
Crock-Pot Classics are the fucking bomb... simple
shit too, rip the bag open and put it in, walk away.
Next thing you know it's beef stew or creamy chicken
pasta... there's like 6 different kinds, all have been
    excellent.

I like to take the beef stew one and toss
it into a 13x9 cake pan whip it into the oven for an
hour... then mix up some Krusteaz baking mix
(Bisquick) dump that on top to bake for another
half hour or so... and there you have beef pie.

Told you, you eat a peanut butter and
mayo sammitch first... so I can laugh
my ass off because I'd never eat either
the sammitch or berries in the first place.

You want a real snack... HERE you go,
live through that one. Pretty sure that
IS NOT on the heart smart diet.

All I have to say is SLOW COOKER. Just throw everything in, turn it on then go about your daily/nightly business and when you come back home its ready to eat. There's soo much you can make in them too, and you don't have to monitor it.

The first Tombstone pizza I ever had in the late 90's was delicious. I tried it later and it was never the same. I think they changed the recipe. For frozen pizza I like Di Giorno.
