Dreadlocks!!

This weekend I am gonna get some dreadlocks sewed onto my hawk. My enormously talented friend Meli is gonna put them in for me. She was generous enough, as well, to make them for me. They are mostly a blend of dark blue and purple, with lime green and baby pink accents. Some of the tips fade to green and pink as well :-)

Last night I spent a couple hours customizing them, as they have a little too much of an industrial cyber feel for my taste. I have been wrapping colored threads in designs through them and weaving ribbons around them, I even sewed in this really cool embroidered ribbon so one of them looks kind of embroidered. It is taking a long time but ithad made my perfect dreads even MORE perfect!

i have no fabulous hair stories to tell, except that 2 or 3 months ago i chopped off almost half my hair and got rid of all the shitty tangled bits at the bottom... i was happyyyyy!

I finally worked up the courage to try some nice blunt fringe, and it turned out really cute. Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with the color. I did the roots, so its all, blond at the roots, and pale blue and purple at the ends. Cute, but won't be cute forever.

I am busting at the seams in anticipation to have my hair CHANGED dramatically.... but I dont want to screw it up, and I dont know anyone who I'd trust to do it. I'm back in Ky right now, where the churchy women still wear beehives!!! Its the dark ages here.

I've been growing my dreads for about 9 yrs or so. maybe a bit longer. I wouldn't mind making a few accent dreads to put in with mine just to spice it up a bit ya'know...how do you make the dreadcents? seriously.

It hurts, but the real pain, is having to get them re-tightened every month or two... It especially hurts the wallet, if you are paying someone to do it...

Yep in the hairdread business most people know them as bobbles. Also known as baubbles. Ill try and snap some photos of some in a little bit when im not crunched for time
