Do You Keep A Notebook Of Ideas???

DO YOU KEEP A NOTEBOOK OF IDEAS??? You know, so that when you have that brilliant idea that you don't want to forget you have a place to write/ sketch about it for later reference??

I have started many but never stick with just one. I often have ideas I want to remember when I don't have the notebook handy, so then my ideas end up on a million different pieces of scrap paper and cardboard box tops instead. I am generally pretty organized so I tend to keep track of them, but I don't usually transfer them into a designated notebook or anything.

I kinda feel envious of people who walk around with a notebook, looking all intellectual and sh*t :-)

I never record my ideas, I won't have time to visit them but someone else might, if I really cared I'd do memory exercises and keep them safe that way

i have a book that i keep that contains cut out pictures and quotes.

I carry several sketch books and one notebook. I'm really picky about the way the notebook is written in vs. how the sketchbook is drawn in...but hey, what works works XD

I'm too disorganized as well to keep *just* one notebook going. These days I wear rimmed eyeglasses and carry a triple width aluminum briefcase with piles of papers, folders, books, a lappy, and assorted shit for the day. I would probably come across as someone so conspicuous as to be inconspicuous (people ask about money, firearms, what is in that thing?) haha.

Scraps of paper - specifically the backs of printouts (there's a pile next to me now). It's a twisted sense of eco-friendliness that if someone else has already wasted the paper I don't have to care how much I scrawl on.

Used to have notebooks but I always tore out pages to file with such-n-such a project, which makes it a little pointless to pay for them.

A guy I used to work with was forever calling is cell voicemail and leaving reminders, usually to call someone else.

not generally, but if i have an idea running through my head keeping me awake i have a notebook and pencil i keep by my bed for it, and when i think of something while im out and about that i think i can use for something then ill save it as a note on my mobile.
also i have a few files of random word documents that i occasionally find on my computer from projects i start and forget - like one time i was asked to think of a cd name and cover idea for my mates band, my ideas were listed, saved, and forgotted.
heh and my My Docs folder is full of little wordpad reminder notes such as "jack 526" (thas all it says) or "remember that thing," embarrassingly another real one of my reminders. hmm. perhaps... i am... a feckin moron.....

I have scraps of paper and pages out of various notebooks with my lyric ideas on them as I've been writing songs for about ten years (well, all my life if you include the kiddy-style jingles I used to make up).
I try to carry a mini notebook in my handbag, it's handy for everything from shopping lists to email addresses, but I've kept a diary of a day in it and I jot down inspiration for my lyrics when it comes to me.

I actually have a songwriting folder at home. It's organised into separate sections: Technique & Tips / Record label info / Unfinished lyrics and drafts / Completed lyrics.

I kept a notebook handy at all times when I was in Italy in July. I made a diary of my trip which I eventually plan to scrapbook once I have moved (which hopefully will be soon), along with all the brochures, photos, business cards, etc that I collected while I was there.

actually now i think about it i used to keep a notebook and pen on me all the time. eventually i stopped bothering after i put it through the wash 3 times

I'm never with out a note pad or a pen. I have about 3 dozen notebooks, at least as many sketchbooks and note pads. There are pens scattered about every surface of the house, even between the couch cushions. I've been known to jot ideas down on the back of my hands, my arms, the tops of my feet, my jeans, box tops, desk tops, when I couldn't find paper or tacks i wrote directly on the cork board. Once a month or so I gather all the scraps I can find and try to either transfers the ones that haven't been expounded upon in some blog or another into a bigger notebook, or Word if they're not worthy of the public. Though Lately I've taken to just putting shit straight into the computer as I've been home alot. I'm hoping to have a lappy of my own before the Great Expedition, but if not, a notebook will keep my travels company till we land...wherever.
