ARE YOU THE BLACK SHEEP OF THE FAMILY???

There are two of us black sheep in my immediate family, although the other one has reformed his ways and is all 'accepted' now.

My older brother and I were always the rebellious ones, always in trouble, always an embarrassment to our folks. He was in rehab for years from the ages of 14- almost 18, to try and keep him out of trouble. We both started doing drugs and smoking and drinking by age 13. We both mutilated ourselves, we were both really unhappy all the time........ We have both found happiness in our adult lives, him by conforming and me by getting even stranger ;-)

My younger brother, ## 3 of 5, was sheltered to protect him from following our examples and making our mistakes. He was kept under strict rules. As an adult, he is slowly coming into his own and getting to experience things that were kept from him while school was made his priority. He's a pretty bad ass guy, we get along fantastically and I think it turned out well for him that he got his education and now can afford to live well and all that.

I think it's kind of interesting that my well behaved younger brother and I now learn from each other. I try and bring a little insanity (the positive kind) into his life, and I look up to him because he's really got his shit together...... We are both at the same place on the happiness scale, as far as I can tell, but those of my folks who are judgmental (which is not all of them) still see him as being better off.....

Always have been & probably will be forever. My folks have learned to keep their mouths shut. They have learned to appreciate that I could have turned out really bad, I don't have any issues with drugs or alcohol, some with relationships but who doesn't. I don't have any surprise kids or spending issues I just look a bit different. I was never into drugs or alcohol, did get in trouble with the boys, a lot & most of my friends were the gothic/punker kids. I had a younger sister who sort of did, get out of control, but she did it to fit in with the cool kids, after a teenage rehab stint she is now pretty straight laced, married and livin' the burb life. Now I think my family is fearing that I will become completely strange & turn into an old maid, I already have 3 cats & culturally you don't meet to many hispanic women at my age with no kids or husband. I would rather that not happen but if it does I think I can handle it.

In my younger days, I appeared very normal (because I didn't know any alternative people) It wasn't until I started work that I met people that I could relate to, then I morphed my appearance to be the person I felt I was. Now I definitely am the Black Sheep of my Blonde Family.

Haha By All means I am the black sheep of my family immediate and otherwise. A good example of this is: After my grandmother's funeral last summer we all met back at the church for lunch where my mother and her sisters attended when they were children. I HAD to change out of my formal outfit because it was driving me crazy~ SO I come out of the church bathroom in Black and Red Tripp pants, my "The Code of Vulgar[ISM]" roadie t-shirt, A spiked choker, a barbedwire choker, my huge rings, spiked creepers, and of course my tattoos hanging out all over the place. XD The whole funeral party stopped eating and just stared at me...all I could say to them was "I AM YOU'RE RELATIVE...THE GOTH...GIMME HUGS AND CANDEH!"

I will always be the pariah. My mother's family has always looked at me as "the other child". then I was the "Goth" and then the porn star, always the trouble maker. I will be the black sheep, no matter what my cousin does (he's in the loony bin for going whacked on pcp and firing his dad's gun into traffic). I will always be worse. Its kinda nice in a way, because I'll always know where I stand.

with the exception of my mother (who bled me dry until i stopped letting her, upon which she kicked me out) my entire family is really accepting of pretty much everything. i probably am the black sheep of the family but everyone is a different oddball color anyway, so nobody notices. my mother tries very hard to stop my youngest sister from having much to do with me though

I think you could call me the black sheep of the family.
I'm the youngest and the only girl (especially since my Mum pissed off), and I'm five years younger than the middle child in our family, and six years younger than the eldest, so that makes it quite a gap between them and myself.

Although I get along really well with both my brothers, they both look at me sometimes and just wonder "why?" about whatever it is I'm doing, saying, wearing or listening to. Both of them shook their heads when I came home with my first (and subsequently my second) tattoos, they frequently ask me why I dye my hair black, and just general stuff like that.

I've corresponded with a serial killer, I have pictures of naked bitches on my bedroom walls, I plan to get at least 10 tattoos once I've got all the ones I have planned out, I have everything from Metallica to Beethoven in my CD collection... I'm a bit different if you ask my family. Lucky for me they love me all the same!

I was the one people thought would do the 'best'. I am considered as extremely intelligent and have a lot of talent but although nearly all my family and cousins have at least 1 degree and high paying jobs like I was supposed to have. I managed to slip through the cracks. I have started 5 Uni degrees none finished had decent jobs the longest I've kept is 3 months before getting bored.

I got into BDSM and I'm bisexual.

Now my parents tell people what my 2 brother and sister do I am added if asked directly.

I had the talent etc, as people say but never applied myself the - dissapointing son.

One of many. I was more visible being the "deathrock" kid back in the day. As I get older, I see I come from an eccentric (albeit relatively wealthy) family.

Btw: The difference between eccentric and "crazy" is this: The eccentric have money. Crazy folks don't. Never buy into any consensual "reality" or accept any derogatory term aimed at your thought processes (even with actual chemical imbalances)

My dad's funeral definitely confirmed the fact that I am the black sheep of the family. Only one cousin didn't fall into an eerie silence when I brought up what my documentary was about. She just kept asking me question after question after question about it and was really interested in it. Everyone else was like 'Um... Okay....' and then they would wander off or change the subject.

Im pretty lucky my families so fucked up that even though im the blackest sheep u cant see through the crowd of the rest of them.
My 2 older sisters raised alot o hell when they were kids paving the way for me to get away wit pretty much anything, between them they got involved wit the wrong people, had drug problems, were sectioned for there own good, had kids, fucked anyone, ran up depts, and got heavily involed in the hardcore dance scene, i just slipped under my parents radar, being 3 yrs younger they figured they wouldnt have to worry bout me for yrs, by 14 id done all they had and then some, then i met people who were into the sort o stuff i liked, well my eyes were opened to the endless possibilities, by 16 id moved out, both my sisters were still at home and came as a shock for the folks, i pretty much well did all i wanted to do for the next 2 yrs, got a serious open minded girlfriend, n by 18 my little girl was born, over the last 10yrs ive done stuff that shocked everyone but im left pretty much to my own devices and no one expects or knows how to deal wit me, im simply me.
since me n my ex split ive returned with avengence to my wild party boy ways, my little girl went on hols wit her mum and i was left to my own devices for a wk, i got involved wit a friend, opps thtas never good idea, n been bit tense between us since, got involved wit my step-sister, nuff said what was i thinkin, n rekindled a girl who was so much bad news for me she makes Bush look good, what can i say the devil makes work for idle hands, lol
