    Default Another O.J. Case?

Karma? It wouldn't surprise me if they threw the book at him for good measure. I also read the author of the current #1 bestseller was under the impression that he was being given a confession.

Amongst the details of O.J.'s Hypothetical: His surprise that Nicole's dog seemed to recognize Goldman. An interesting hypothetical detail to his hypothetical admission to a crime he did not commit. - JT

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday by Las Vegas police, and the local district attorney said he plans to file robbery-related charges that could send the NFL hall of fame running back to jail until he is 90, according to media reports..

The arrest came after Simpson was identified as among a group of men, two of them armed, who accosted memorabilia collectors in a hotel room at the Palace Station Casino on Thursday and allegedly took articles from them, including memorabilia linked to Simpson, according to reports.
Clark County, Nev., District Attorney David Roger said he expected to charge Simpson with seven felonies and a misdemeanor, Associated Press reported. Simpson, 60, would face up to 30 years in state prison on each robbery count alone, AP said.

Police said four more men face arrest, according to the report.
Simpson previously told AP the articles had been stolen from him and no weapons were involved.

Las Vegas police said Sunday that Simpson was taken into custody at the Palms Hotel, and was being held for investigation of two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm.

Police said they seized two firearms involved in the incident along with sports memorabilia, mostly signed by Simpson, but also collectible baseballs and Joe Montana cleats, at private residences early Sunday after serving three search warrants, AP reported.

"It was evidence of a crime that was committed," Lt. Clint Nichols said, according to AP. "Whether the property belonged to Mr. Simpson is a matter of debate."

Police did not allege that Simpson personally carried a weapon, AP said.
Simpson's lawyer, Yale Galanter, did not immediately return calls for comment after the arrest, AP said.

Simpson was jailed a day after the arrest of a golfing buddy who police say accompanied him with a gun in the Thursday night holdup, AP said.

Walter Alexander, 46, of Mesa, Ariz., was arrested Saturday night on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon, according to AP.

He was described as one of Simpson's golfing buddies who went with him to the scene of the robbery, AP said.

"Walter was one of the two subjects who had a gun," Capt. James Dillon said.

Alexander was released without bail Saturday night, AP said, adding that Robert Dennis Rentzer, a Los Angeles lawyer representing Alexander, said he was able to arrange his client's release from custody, but wasn't familiar with the allegations.

Simpson said auction house owner Tom Riccio called him several weeks ago to say some collectors were selling some of his items, AP reported. Riccio set up a meeting with collectors under the guise that he had a private collector interested in buying Simpson's items, according to the report.
Simpson said he was accompanied by several men he met at a wedding cocktail party, and they took the collectibles, AP said.

Alfred Beardsley, one of the sports memorabilia collectors who was in the hotel room, has said he wants the case dropped and that he's "on O.J.'s side," AP reported, adding the other alleged victim, sports collector Bruce Fromong, had not indicated that he wants to drop the complaint.

Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in June 1994. After the criminal case, a California jury later ruled in a civil suit brought by the victims' families that he was responsible for their deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million in damages

The arrest was not the first time Simpson has had legal troubles since his acquittal in the "Trial of the Century," AP said

He was cleared of charges in 2001 Florida road-rage incident, and in January 2003, his teenage daughter Sydney Simpson made an emotional 911 call to police after an argument with her father over family issues, but no charges were filed, according to the AP report. A neighbor who went to Simpson's suburban Miami home on July 4, 2005, also called police to report a fight, but again no charges were filed, AP said

I would say good attorneys, but it is pretty uncanny given the other incidents. His goose may finally be fried. There is audio of the incident. I don't know what will be admissible, but O.J. sounds like a mafia boss putting the "juice" on his nemesis.

From the media reports coming out about the case here in Vegas, it seems that Simpson recruited a number of his assistants from the ranks of wedding party guests, among whom he was one, at a wedding on the Strip he attended last week.

One of these men turned himself in at his attorney's office in California earlier to-day, and made a number of rather unflattering statements about Mr. Simpson and his personality.

They may or mayn't be true, and will probably have little or nothing to do with the eventual out-come of the case.

But, I guess this fellow and his attorney wanted to cut a deal as rapidly as possible with the authorities, and, if it makes Simpson look like even more of a schmuck in the process, that's how they're going to play their hand.

For now, Mr. Simpson's in an isolation cell at the Clark County Detention Center down-town, and will be there until this Wednesday, when his arraignment comes up.

    Very silly affair, this.

everyone thinks that the dude killed his wife, and he wrote a book that basically said, "haha. I did it and I got away with it and now I'm going to rub it in everyone's face." and even if he didn't do it, that is still in extremley poor taste to do that. is it really that shocking or rash that people think OJ is an asshole and he deserves to go to jail?
